Honda Cub "Super Cub" 50cc (49cc) Very rare to see one of these in the states, Unless someone made a wrong turn on the streets of Japan. Original as far as I know, If anything was replaced it was normal done as needed, before I got the bike.. I assume these could not be the original tires ect... but it has several cool original things i have never seen decals ect... Super cool classic 60's hipster style... just the thing for parking next to the cafe on the curb... This will get more attention than the $35k Harley next to it.... Here is what I know form the previous owner, He was/is a truck driver, He found this at one of his regular deliveries, He tried to buy it for years... They only rode it inside the factory and it is my understanding only 2 guys were "authorized" to ride it.. It supposedly came with the manufacturing equipment when they were building the factory in the early 80s and this was new at the time... it was there for the Japanese plant manager to get around while they were putting the plant equipment together and getting up and running, Early last year the plant was sold or shut down or cut way back... the truck driver asked what happened to the "little blue honda" they went looking for it and found it parked in an empty office, made a few phone calls and he was able to purchase it... I went to buy an old Honda 750 from the truck driver and spotted this little Cub in the barn, After a few hours I was able to leave with the Cub, the 750, and a trailer load of other stuff... he was at a point in his life where he was scaling down and was ready to clean up... (a point I have yet to reach) I drained & replaced the oil, cleaned the carb, drained the fuel tank (it has a fuel gauge on the top of the tank which is pretty cool) put new fuel in it... and it started right up... It is kick start ONLY...it runs really well with a slight hint of exhaust smoke... it shows 23,000 KM on the odometer, which I believe is close to 14,000 MILES all indoors! (except for the few miles we put on it around the house) I do NOT think the valves have ever been adjusted... both Mirrors are GONE and the ends of their mounts are broken off in the mounts... I have not cleaned or polished or even wiped much dust off... it is pretty much like it was when i got it... and they say "they are only original once" I was tempted to clean & polish it up which I think would make it look really nice... and ... As much as I'd like to keep it... I have no reason to... I thought it might be cool around campus, but they are not real big on unlicensed motorized "bikes", So I guess it will go into the "Tuition" fund... the light smoke when running means it could need rings? maybe... it runs good and will go 35mph and just hummmm along... It looks like it came right off the streets of Vietnam, It has a few scrapes as one would expect for a bike it's age... but everything works lights high /low, blinkers, dash lights, neutral light, horn, ect... the tank has a little surface rust inside but nothing like I'm use to... it was so little (in my world terms) that all I did was flush out the old gas and refill... I'm sure it could at least use a plug, carb adjusted or something... I never checked... I don't even know if it is points or electronic (it started and it ran and I knew it had new oil it's a Honda) I had it displayed in the lobby of our building but people were sitting on it so I moved it to my storage area, It is located in Memphis Tn... NOTE: Please READ!! I have NO paperwork on this bike, I'm sure it has never been registered in any way... I have a guy who says he can get me a title in my name for $200 but I just didn't see the need... IF you want me to TRY to get this done AFTER you have purchased it and before you pick it up I will do it for the $200 cost... in advance and refund if it doesn't happen... BUT I can NOT warrant that I can do it... I never have, but willing to try... no cost if I can't , and NO I will not sell the bike contingent upon it happening, If you just need a bill of sale I will be happy to furnish it... you must make a non refundable deposit to my pay-pal account within 24hrs of the end of sale... with balance in good funds before bike is moved, I can hold/store the bike inside for 30days as long as it is paid for... again NOTHING leaves until I have good funds. contact me with any questions before you bid... bidders with 0 or less than 10 feedback must contact me before they bid of i will cancel their bid in fairness to others...
