If you are reading this listing, then I don’t need to educate you to the merits of this fine automobile. Suffice it to say, the car was designed to be one of the finest automobiles ever designed and it achieved that milestone, in my opinion. The car, despite being a 2004, is still relevant today. The Navigation is outdated, but I use Google maps anyway. The tires/rims might be a bit on the small side, but you can always upgrade them. The styling is pure Teutonic and I’ve always liked it – a Phaeton looks like no other car on the road. And they are rare. Only 3000 Phaetons were imported into the USA in the three years of production (2004-06). My observations are as follows: I’ve owned 4 Phaetons, this is the nicest, by far. The color Luna Blue, is stunning in person. It’s also one of the rarer colors for the Phaeton. The mileage is original – and very low for a 2004 @ 88,000. The interior is a 9.9 out of a 10 – and all features, options, work as new. Again, I’ve not used the NAV, but the discs are there. The rear seating area is limousine large – as it should be sitting on a Bentley chassis – but this car was originally ordered by a well-known, high profile, Chicago attorney and he WAS chauffeur driven in this VW. There are no TPMS errors in this car – as is usually the case with Phaetons. The motor is quiet, the transmission shifts flawlessly. The second owner was a collector and babied the car – it’s always been stored inside. The 6 CD player works perfectly, as do the “listening” options (ie: studio, jazz, theater, etc). It’s actually a pretty good stereo unit. The clock works. The carpet is in great condition – and there is a new set of carpeted floor mats in place (the originals are in fine condition and also go with the car) The leveling suspension works 100%. I usually drive with the setting on comfort. The double paned glass keeps the interior very quiet. I’ve just replaced the regulator for the passenger window and all four windows work flawlessly. The sun/privacy shades for the rear windows and rear back glass are all present. The rear back glass is power activated. The others are manual (one has the clasp missing, therefore you need to grasp it carefully to raise it) The wood is in excellent condition with minor cracking commensurate with age. The sunroof works perfectly. The car comes with 3 sets of keys and all books and manuals from new. The tires are in excellent condition and nearly new. The rims show some mild curb rash – but not enough to be a distraction. The can always be refinished. The full-size spare is present as are the tools and jack. The foot rests for the rear seating area are present and in excellent condition. The headliner is in excellent condition. The front seats have the massage feature, as well as, lumbar support and heating. At 88,000 miles, the paint, while excellent, has small nicks and touch up spots. The windshield also is typical for these miles. As a bonus, I’ve installed VW logo courtesy lights that show the VW logo on the ground whenever any of the four doors is open (very cool at night). The original lights, should you want them, are in the glove box. I’ve also added a tasteful rear deck spoiler. It’s small and looks great. It is painted to match the car’s original color. The oil is changed regularly as are the filters. The Phaeton actually tells you (under the hood) what the condition of the air filter is – see pics. The car drives as new. No noises, no issues – it’s a true pleasure – a very well-kept Phaeton. Again, one of the best I’ve ever seen/owned. It is also the only one I’ve ever seen in this color combination: Luna Blue over grey leather. It’s rare and right. If you are a Phaeton fan, this is the car for you. I can provide more pictures – just ask. I encourage inspections – and any questions you require to be comfortable with the car. It is an 18-year-old car – it’s darn near perfect but not new – please remember that. I will not end the auction early. I will, however, entertain other collector car trades. I also reserve the right to end this auction early as there has been local interest, from friends, who might want to acquire her. It’s a Flying Spur at a fraction of the cost – I should know, I bought a Flying Spur, new in 2006 and owned both the Spur and the Phaeton at the same time. Same interior dimensions and many of the same features. A true limo. Due to the age of the vehicle the car is being sold As-Is, Where-Is. There is no warranty implied or guaranteed. The car has been described to the best of my ability and is an accurate representation of what I have reviewed. The car is not new, it is used and sold as-is, where is. If the vehicle cannot be picked up or paid for completely within 7-days from the close of auction, Deposits and fees are NON-REFUNDABLE if the vehicle is not paid for. Balance of Payment Due ... The buyer agrees to pay remaining balance due (plus applicable fees and taxes) within 7 days of the close of the auction. All financial transactions must be completed before delivery of the vehicle. Vehicle Titles ...I have a clear title in hand and ready for delivery. If payment is made other than wire transfer (ie: certified check), I will hold the title for 5-10 business days or until ALL funds have cleared.
