This is quite a unique time capsule of a vintage Suzuki. You don't find bikes with a history like this very often. This cycle is exceptionally clean and has been meticulously maintained - it almost looks like it's been ridden a handful of times before being put under glass. While it's squeaky clean when compared to its peers, this bike has seen many adventures. The original owner, Mark Komurka of Madison Wisconsin, racked up nearly 80k miles on this machine by the end of the 1988 riding season. This was accomplished with nearly religious adherence to a 1500 mile oil change interval which was done every 6 weeks or so to keep up with how much action this bike saw. This is confirmed on one of the service record sheets which had been saved in folds of the owners manual documenting the service work for the '87 & '88 riding seasons. With such rigorous attention to maintenance, it's no wonder this cycle has survived the tests of time and distance. Mark had owned another Suzuki before this, receiving the name "Suzi". With this 550 being the second bike, she was known as "Suzi II" which is lovingly christened on the back tail cowl. A Derale Performance oil cooler had been installed pretty much from day one, another key to this kind of longevity - Mark even saved the paperwork for this part. This cycle had been tucked away for nearly 30 years until we obtained it from a family member. We went through the usual steps of bringing such a cycle back to life; carburetor cleaning, new intake manifold boots & air filter, oil change, new spark plugs, fresh hoses, cable & chassis adjustment/lubrication, good tires & battery, and a nice bath. While the cycle likely doesn't make quite as much power as it did when new, she fires up nicely and has quite a story to tell. Yes, it has a clear title ready to be transferred. Also included are the original owner's manual, toolkit, and the original Suzuki-branded key.
