A friend of mine has reluctantly decided to sell her classic 1966 Ford Mustang Convertible.She has owned this car for more than 40 years! It was given to her as a gift from her father after she graduated high school. She drove the car regularly and enjoyed it very much over the years. While the years have passed by she has raised a family, etc.. and her priorities have now changed.For the last several years the car has just been sitting in the garage taking up valuable space. Although rarely used,it has been basically maintained and kept in running condition.This is an original 289 V8 "C" code car with an automatic transmission.The car runs and drives well and it has had some brake work and a new battery installed not too long ago.The bodywork and budget repaint are showing their age.There are chips,scratches,and some dings.The lower doors have some rust and some old bodywork that is starting to blister.Most of the other body panels look pretty decent.The power convertible top is in great condition and it works well with just a little help. The interior is ok but it is also showing its age and will need some work done.The undercarriage of this car looks very solid.According to the owner,the floor pans were professionally replaced many years ago.I do not see any rust on the front or rear framerails.I did find a small rust hole near the right rear inner rocker panel area. The trunk pan area is clean and solid.Please consider this car a RESTORATION PROJECT that you can drive while you tinker with it.. It still turns heads but it will need a complete restoration to be a show worthy car.
