I bought this GL550 brand new in July 2010 and had it shipped to Sarasota, Florida from Mercedes Benz of Traverse City, MI. It was the only one I could find with the exact specification I wanted. At that time, high spec. GL550s were in short supply and I even had to sign an affidavit promising I wouldn’t export it. I paid $85,000.00 + tax, tag & title. A total of $90,311.40. Since then it has only been driven by myself or my wife and has done 112,000 miles, mostly on I-75 between Tampa and Ft. Myers (with the cruise set at 75mph)! It has always been serviced at Mercedes of Sarasota in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommended service intervals. The first set of front brake pads was fitted at 55,717 miles and the rears at 69,766 miles so that gives an idea of how we drive. They also flushed the transmission, brake fluid etc. at the correct intervals and took care of any warranty repairs. It has never been in any kind of accident and has only had a very small paint touch up on the roof, just above the windshield. I’m not sure if the chip was caused by a stone or if it was a paint defect from new. There are two other tiny paint blemishes on the left side and one rim has some curb rash. A new set of 295/40 ZR-21 Continental Cross Contact tires was fitted on 07/16/16 at 98,888 miles so they are approximately 45% worn/55% remaining (I usually get around 30,000 miles from a set of tires). The spare is unused. I purchased a genuine Mercedes ELW (Extended Limited Warranty) which is transferable and covers the vehicle until 07/09/2017 or 125,000 miles, whichever comes first.
