Up for auction is a Classic Speedster kit car built in 1994 in Tennessee. I purchased the car from the second owner in Florida for my wife's 65th birthday in 2008. Unfortunately my wife had recent knee replacement & back surgery which now prohibits her from driving her car. This car was used as a week-end toy and we drove it over 4,000 miles before we put the car in non op status in the state of California. The car is clean and is very good driving car. While we have owned the car, we have installed a new clutch cable & clutch, new master cylinder and have maintain oils and tune. A valve adjustment was done at each oil change at approximately 2000 mile intervals. I detailed the engine compartment and added aluminum side compartment panels. This car has always been garaged. It looks great but it does show some age. The fiberglass body is not perfect but you should not be embarrassed driving this car. It has rock chips, a few cracks and some paint scrapes that you can expect to find with a driver quality that still has its original paint. Despite its age, it really does look beautiful. Our car comes with a convertible top, a spare tire, tonneau cover, car cover, and some misc. spare parts and front disk brake conversion kit not currently installed. We have not used the convertible top (which is black in color) because we are both over 6 ft tall and we can't fit in the car with the convertible top on the car. I guess people were smaller decades ago! We hate to sell it but it's time for a new home. We are hoping that it will go to a person who can appreciate our car. A $500 deposit is required within 24 hours of the auction close by the successful bidder. The successful bidder may pay the deposit by PayPal. The balance must be paid prior to our release of the car, title and keys. Cash or a cashier's check is acceptable. However, cashier's check must be cleared by our bank and verified transfer of funds prior to the release of the car, title and keys.
