Vehicle Detail
I have relisted the GS due to the winner of the last auction not paying: please only bid if you are certain of paying for and owning this GS. The description I have listed beneath this is transparent with all information about the motorcycle that is relevant and vital for all potential owners, and bidders, of this particular GS. I have been an eBay member for over 10 years now, and have a 100% eBay rating. Hence, the winner of this auction will own a beautiful, well-maintained, exceptionally sound and running GS. No reserve. Firstly, this GS is in very good condition both mechanically and aesthetically. I am the third owner, and I bought the bike last year and put approximately 500 miles since my purchase. I changed the oil when I first received it from the shipper. The owner before me, the second owner, bought the bike from a Florida BMW dealership at 26,000 miles. The original owner traded the bike into this Florida BMW dealership. Anyways, the engine runs good, idles good, and revs through all the gears perfectly. There is no oil burning occurring. Mechanically, the bike runs perfectly. Yes, the bike is more than capable of going cross country, and off road, you name it. The servo brakes are functioning properly as well, and I have never experienced any hiccups in this brake system. The grips are heated with two heat settings. There are also multiple USB plug-ins, as well as a cigarette lighter plug-in. I believe the tires are Michelin Pilot Trail 4's (I'm not next to the bike right now, but it's either Trail 4's, or a very similar tire), and they're at about 80-90% tread. They are practically new. The exterior is in great condition, with a small mark on the front fender (you probably won't notice it unless you are detailing the bike, but it should be mentioned). Also, the bike has never been dropped. There may be small rock chips here and there from regular street riding, but there's no large marks or dents anywhere on the motorcycle. From its current condition it appears that it has never been ridden off road. If you are planning on doing a cross country, ADV type trip, then I would recommend doing a final drive and transmission oil service beforehand - if you're comfortable, I would do this yourself since the bike is simple to work on. If you're in Los Angeles, then I have a good mechanic I could recommend to you. I'll send you any online resources that you may need for service needs. Finally, this GS has a Florida title which I have in my hand. I never transferred the title to my name, however my name is written in pen on the title. A California buyer is preferred for ease and convenience, but an out-of-state buyer is fine - I'll aid and assist with the DMV transfer on your end if there are any bumps. I talked to AAA and they said myself and the new owner will just need to fill out a bill of sale, if in California or out-of-state. Again, an out-of-state buyer is fine with me, as I know shipping is only about $400 (in my experience it was less) going across the country, and I'll just mail you a bill of sale in addition to the title - I will be available for any and all DMV administrative tasks within California or out-of-state; please don't feel hesitant on bidding just because you are out-of-state. As I said, the second owner in Florida bought the bike from a BMW dealership in Florida - the original owner traded it in. Unfortunately, the bike did not come with all the service records from the dealership. However, the bike is running perfectly, and you are more than welcome to have a mechanic check it out. This is likely one of the 'cleanest' 05's on the market right now, and it is very evident that it was never taken off-road, and that it was very gently ridden. I highly recommend that you view the bike in person, and even take it to any local mechanic, if you are doubtful of its condition - it's spectacular. Mechanically (transmission ,engine, final drive, etc.), there are absolutely no hiccups or oddities. For those who want to see the bike, and are from outside of California, I can pick you up at the Santa Ana Airport which is 50 miles outside of Los Angeles. The same goes for the winner of the auction, I can pick you up from the airport if you are coming from out of state to get the motorcycle. The bike will be thorughly washed and gassed up before pickup. Thank you for your interest, and happy bidding. -Austin On Apr-14-17 at 16:25:23 PDT, seller added the following information: I have got a lot of questions regarding the title. If you are worried about the title and taking it to the DMV in your state, then we can do the following: if you win the auction, I can then proceed to transfer the title to my name while splitting the fees with you - I can then 'gift' the bike to you with a California title. Reason for sale: I'm leaving last minute for grad school on June 5th, hence the reason I didn't transfer the title to my name before posting on eBay -the DMV here is notorious for taking a while to transfer titles, and I need the physical bike gone before I leave. The administrative tasks, with the title, can easily be handled even if I'm in Chicago. Anyways, hope that all makes sense. Thanks for looking -Austin
