BMW R5 1937 restored to mint condition, Very Rare!!! Original made in Germany Pre War Bmw. This bike was a barn find discovered in August 2015, after one and a half year of restoration process we are proud to list this unique machine. Bike experimented a complete and detailed restoration work made by our specialist German descendant with over 40 years of experience Gustavo Köncke, with collaboration and support by RetroMotorTeile, more than 12 years of experience and 100% ebay feedback proved. Works over the bike included: - Total paint work with sand blasting of all the parts and paint pattern as factory one.- Engine totally overhaul with sand blasting of all aluminum parts, new pistons, rebuilt crankshaft, new bearings, cylinder heads were rebuilt as well with new valves, new valves guides and valves springs according to exactly factory specs.- Gearbox was removed and body was sand balsted also, new bearings, seals and gaskets installed as well all gears and components were checked.- Electric installation was totally removed and refurbish as standard original specifications.- New tires, brakes, spokes, wheels were painted according to factory paint pattern.- Used mostly N.O.S and exactly repro parts same as factory ones bought in Germany in places as ULI Motorraden Frankfurt and Oldtimer Koni Berlin, this parts includes: Rear tail light, carburetor rubbers, keys and locks, speedometer components, electrical components, engine parts, gearbox parts etc. - Only non-original part in the MC are the carburetors, we mounted 2 Dell ´Orto Italian Carburetors similar to original ones but post war made. This bike have the engine number: 500003 this means it’s the 3erd worldwide ever produced BMW R5 1937 engine, chassis number is 501112. cylinder heads one is original 500003 and the other is not but still a R5 cylinder head.
