PLEASE READ EVERYTHING Before Sending me Questions Thank You! 1966 Ford F100 Step Side - Custom Cab - Short bed 6' As I understand: Ford named their 'Step Sides' as 'Flare Sides' to be different from the competition - Chevy for marketing purposes ...So technically this a Flare Side 1966 Ford Custom Cab Short Bed (6') Pick Up This is a very desirable short bed truck. The step side is much more user friendly design and will save wear and tear on your back and knees ...trust me. Restored, this would make a great business truck, vintage tow vehicle, or styling Sunday driver. I bought the truck running and was improving it while using it for about a year and a half as my daily driver. Working from home, I did not put all that may miles on it. Improvements over the last year or so: Original Green Dot Cruise O Matic Transmission - Completely rebuilt in 2016 by a local well respected Transmission shop. Papers will be included. At a cost of about $1,400. New Rear air bags - as this was going to be a tow vehicle for a vintage trailer. New Working Trailer electric hookup on Bumper New rubber fuel fill neck hose and most other rubber is included. I ordered but did not install yet. New locking fuel cap New spark plugs and wires New Battery - though it will need recharged. Replaced rubber seals on doors. Overall a great original clean body. I believe it has always been a California truck. Includes value of over $500 in new/vintage parts including: used pulled power assist steering unit (not shown in photos), weather seals, new parts to fix the horn (currently not working), a new uninstalled washer fluid container, new 'Twin I Beam' tags to put in the original chrome mounts, some engine gaskets, etc. Heat works. Defrost works. All lights and switches functions are working, save the horn. Has spare tire under bed ( I never used it but it looks good) Locks and windows all function Period Correct Original 1966 License Plates included. Begins with the letter "S" Plates are clear to be used with Cali DMV Comes with Original "CUSTOM CAB" and "TWIN I BEAM" chrome tags (shown in last photo with loose parts) We did some brake work recently. As I recall, brakes were in decent shape and did not need any work until the pads wear down. ________ __________ ____________ The engine does not work. The 352 in it is blown. It blew a rod or something, and it went through the bottom of the engine block. It needs to come out and be replaced. When It blew, I had the truck towed home this October. My buddy and I were going to do an engine swap over a weekend, but I have way too much going on in my life to handle it right now. So, I'll re visit owning a vintage ford at some later time. Before the engine blew the truck was running great. Truth be told, the oil light would flicker occasionally. Over several months we realized that it was the oil pump dying. Before we got to replace it, the engine gave out on longer than usual trip. __________________ _______________________ Other stuff: There is a small crack in windscreen, that I was told could be fixed. I would suggest replacing the rubber then too as it needs it. Of course there is a little body damage: 3 things jump out: rear bumper is bent on one side, a dent to front passenger fender, and slight damage to grill - both of those could be worked out pretty easily. Couple little dings here or there but nothing else major. Currently it has a plywood bed. Included with the sale of the truck are that original metal strips for the bed, so you can re-plank it.Tires have some tread are are ok for driving. Some light surface rust but I find no cancer/deep rust anywhere. I am selling the truck as-is and suggest you come to look at it. Photos can only show what they show. I am not trying to hide anything, but don't want a disappointed buyer either. _____________ _____________ Great Daily Driver or Restoration candidate. Color is Original Buff - will need to be repainted or clear coated at some point. Un-messed with and nearly complete original truck Cash deals for in person sales. CLEAN CLEAR TITLE IN HAND - SO YOU NEED CASH IN HAND This month I switched to Non Operating Registration Status. Actual mileage is unknown as I've only owned it for 2 years, but I assume it is 125,306 Truck last driven in October So you read everything ...Right....now please ask any additional question and I'll be happy to answer them. This is the best truck you can buy for the money , and would as I said restore well or make a good daily driver with a new engine and a replacement engine. Payment due within 7days in full via Paypal or cash in person. On Apr-05-17 at 18:11:04 PDT, seller added the following information: You are welcome to send me a private message and come view the truck, but speak quickly this is a short auction. On Apr-10-17 at 17:27:13 PDT, seller added the following information: I added some new photos mostly at the request of one of the bidder but also thought to include some additional info for your confidence in purchase: The last photos added today (April 10th) show the bottoms of the doors, the floors pans, and the entrance to the cab as were requested. Note solid entrance and solid door bottoms. Also note, as I did not mention previously: Before I bought the truck someone used some kind of "Rust Stop" on the floor pans as there was leaking from the windshield rubber. As described in the details, I bought the rubber, but did not replace it. I am including that rubber in the sale. You will need to replace the rubber as it does leak when it rains. Even though there was pitting prior to the floor pan, the floor is super solid ! This is NOT heavy damage, there is NO need to cut out anything and the pitting was Neutralized. Of course it still rains, so you'll just want to reapplying a rust prohibitor after you replace the windscreen rubber and before you finish off the cab. Again as minor point, but I am trying to be as honest as I can so everyone can bid with confidence. I hope this additional information is well received - I did not purposely keep this out of the description. I had card board floor mats and only just took them out for the auction photos and wasnt planning on selling this truck, but things happen and I need to let it go. Cheers to my fellow Vintage Ford enthusiasts and happy bidding! On Apr-10-17 at 17:30:01 PDT, seller added the following information: Previous statement refers to final 6 imagesOn Apr-11-17 at 01:16:27 PDT, seller added the following information: Due to a family emergency I was asked to remove the bid of the former winning bidder.
