Vehicle Detail
This Honda was purchased from a collector 7 years ago. The bike had been stored indoors for over 20 years. The carbs were pulled, completely cleaned and Keyster rebuild kits installed. The brakes were serviced and new master and slave cylinder seals installed. The Battery is an AGM and it lives on an Optimate tender. You can walk up to this bike at any time, turn on the fuel tap and give it 3/4 choke and it will fire up at the touch of the button. No barn, garage or cold storage for this bike, it has been living in our heated/dry shop for the past 7 years. It has had maybe 300 miles put on it since that full service years ago. Every 6 months or so it gets fired up and ridden around the block for a couple miles, and it never misses a beat. The Goods: The gas tank, carbs and cylinders have been fogged (sprayed with West Marine Star-brite fogging oil)- They look fantastic inside and are not seized, sticky or corroded. Everything has a nice shiny, oily finish. This bike has never had ethanol gas put in it. We have a local gas station that sells non-ethanol gas and that's the only thing I've run through it for the past 7 years. The entire outside of the bike is annually sprayed down with ACF-50. The chrome is fantastic, even the wheels and fenders. If you're not currently using ACF-50 or Corrosion Blocker, you should look into it. Excellent compression +/-5 psi over all 4 cylinders. New NGK DR8iex Iridium plugs less than 500 miles ago. This bike has NOT been fitted with a Pamco or other electronic ignition, because it's such a good runner, but I do usually recommend them. Points and condenser are both less than 500 miles old. The Freedom Green Metallic gas tank and side panels are in AMAZING original condition, you can tell this bike has been stored indoors its entire life. Not kidding, these are showroom looking. Most of the Freedom Green bikes faded fast and the tops of the tanks turn almost brown. Not these, the side panels are also gorgeous. The gauges are bright without the signs of fading or cracking usually found on Hondas from this era. The original tire information sticker is still present and not scraped or faded out on the back fender. All of the turn signals, tail light and reflectors are intact, beautiful and original. The seat is a custom lowered seat from Hot Rod Seats, if you'd prefer a factory stock seat, I'll swap them out for you. The exhaust is a period correct aftermarket Slash-Cut 4 into 2 slip-on Jardine that retains the OEM header pipes (which are not corroded) and changes only from the middle back. It does not interfere with the center stand. Aftermarket OEM replica 4 into 4 sets are available for this bike for around $1200 This is the easiest motorcycle to maintain, modify and restore, there are literally hundreds of parts sources for the CB750, Cycle World Magazine calls it the best supported Vintage Motorcycle. There are literally entire books written about the maintenance and restoration of this one particular model of motorcycle. This is an investment. A 1975 Honda CB750k just sold at Barret Jackson for $12,000 in daily rider condition. This bike will never be worth LESS than what you will end up paying for it. The Tough Stuff: The tires are many years old. You will want to invest in new rubber if you're planning on putting any serious stress on it. I would have put tires on it myself, but what are the odds you and I have the same taste in tires? There are many excellent options not for modern tires that look like Vintage OEM equipment. THIS IS NOT A MODERN, FUEL INJECTED, NO MAINTENANCE, MOTORCYCLE. It is 43 years old. It is a Historical Vehicle (one set of plates for the next 50 years and cheap insurance). This is not just a "cheap bike" it's a collectors Item. It's the motorcycle that changed everything. If you just want a cheap bike to bang around on get yourself a Ninja 500. This is NOT shop inventory, I am selling this bike out of my personal 30 bike collection. If you would like to see some of the other vintage bikes I'm selling just go to my clevelandmoto website and click your way over to the used and vintage motorcycle page. Brand new AGM battery installed, it Starts up fine and runs with no troubles and has a clean Ohio title in my name. I can send you a video of me riding it around the shop parking lot. If you want more pictures, of any particular angle or item, just let me know, the bike is in my showroom. The bike is listed locally and on a few different collector forums, so don't be surprised if my auction ends early because of a local buyer. There will be NO test rides without cash in hand. I contact ALL of my bidders to make sure they're not scammers. If you don't bid, I can't know you're interested, if you bid and I've got a local offer, I will let you know. The bike is located at ClevelandMoto in my Mentor store if you'd like to stop by and check it out.
