96 RMW black wood 115k Up for offer is a 1996 Buick Roadmaster Estate Wagon with 115k miles. Collectors Edition like every other 96 Roadmaster. Loaded up with power everything. Boasting GMs Corvette inspired multiport injected 5.7L LT1 V8 engine and 4L60E 4 speed automatic transmission, she puts down plenty of power. Base 2.56 gears; open rear end, rated for 3000 lbs. towing. Relatively rare (not saying its more valuable) black woody with 3rd seat delete, but I will include all 3rd seat pieces if the buyer wants (seats, seat belts, carpet, remote release.) Delivers consistent 16 in town and 24 highway at 70 mph. No accidents on the history report - send me your email address and Ill send it to you. Please read the description carefully - though any wear listed is typical of a 20 year old car, Im mentioning every little thing on this car I can find wrong, partly because it photographs beautifully and I dont want you to think its a perfect car. Car available for showing in Mt. Pleasant after 6:30 pm weekdays or any time weekends by appointment. Condition Report ENGINE: Runs on all eight cylinders without smoking, missing or knocking. Engine runs at proper temperature. Good battery & good charging system. Cranks a little longer (5-10 seconds) if it sits for a week. Runs strong. TRANSMISSION: Performs as designed. Engages gears quickly and shifts through all forward gears and reverse with good downshift and torque converter performance. Clean fluid with no burn odors. EXTERIOR: Body: Body is in good shape. No evident outer body rust except a couple paint chips. Small dents low on right side doors. Hood has several small dents that I tried to photograph but are small and hard to see in pictures. Above average. Paint: Paint is very nice. Has a few scratches and imperfections as seen in pics but still looks nice. Wood: Upper wood trim was removed, painted tan and reinstalled so it wont peel like most do at this age. The side panel fake wood is in very good shape - all shiny and only a few nicks and chips on tailgate and right front fender/door. Other: Lower stainless bright trim is in good shape with some small dings but front bumper stainless trim is really nice. Rubber side trim is all there. Windshield and all other glass are good with no chips or cracks. Undercarriage is solid with light surface rust as seen in pics. Underhood sheet metal/wheelhouses are solid. Tailgate sill and door jambs have no rust as seen in pics. Aluminum wheels are in good shape - three are very nice and one has some blemishes (Ill include a better one with the sale upon request). INTERIOR: Interior of the car is in good shape. Dash has no cracks. Headliner is in nice shape. Carpeting has some staining under the floormats, and there are some light stains in the cargo area. The front seats have some staining that I tried to get out but not too hard - you may have more patience... Rear seat is very nice. No smoke or pet odors. Good interior overall. As noted above, I will include all parts to install 3rd seat upon request. ELECTRICAL STUFF: All inspection items work (lights, horn, wipers, etc.) ALL power options work reliably, including power windows, power locks, power drivers seat, hot heat and cold A/C, tilt, cruise, am/fm stereo cassette, rear window release, twilight sentinel, intermittent wipers, and rear defroster. The prior owner added a switch for the washer fluid under the headlight switch, and rear wiper motor works but wiper arm is broken. Heat and A/C work, but if you set heat or air to the floor, it sends heat to both defroster and floor. A/C blows hard out the vents when selected. Tilt steering joint a little loose. These 90s GM full size cars are notorious for inaccurate fuel gauges - please keep full until youre sure of how inaccurate it is. DRIVEABILITY: Drives out well. Has a small amount of play in the steering, though according to Carfax (and on the car) there is a newer steering gear box. Suspension is really tight - a little too tight for my taste. Brakes work well with good linings. Tires have about 20% tread remaining rear, 10% front, on two matched pairs of good quality whitewall radials. Solid original stainless exhaust pipes with no leaks in the pipes, but there is a small leak at the drivers side exhaust manifold where a bolt broke off (very common on these). Sound from that leak almost goes away when car is warm. Check engine light is not lit (except at start up as it should.) There is a squeak from the left front control arm bushing (rubber bushing worn). Finally, a seal around drivers door has a wear spot so theres some air noise there. Ill include another seal with the car. Thats all I can think of, and car is priced accordingly. The Carfax shows a 10,000 mile potential odometer discrepancy in 2008 that looks like an input error from the repair shop. It shows on Carfax as a "potential rollback" but who rolls back just 10,000 miles on a 12 year old (in 2008) car? You be the judge - feel free to ask for the Carfax.
