Vehicle Detail
Selling my beloved MR2 - great car for a collector, a track day enthusiast, or anyone who just loves to drive. This car runs just like new and is an absolute blast to drive. This is manual-transmission, mid-engined, rear-wheel drive excitement. Classic styling looks like a Porsche, but the car is much more reliable. If you love Top Gear, this might be the car for you. Also, this car is RARE - fewer than 28,000 ever made for U.S. market. All new: tires, brakes, calipers, clutchReplaced within last 5 years - roof (original Toyota parts)All maintenance records included. Previous owner was CarMax, who performs very rigorous inspections. On Mar-01-17 at 20:07:13 PST, seller added the following information: ***Updated info*** I wanted to add a bit about my experiences with this car. I've owned the vehicle for a little over 5 years, and most of the mileage was put on by me. I had always wanted an MR2, and I loved the paint color, so I paid to have this one shipped across the country to me by CarMax. Like every other CarMax vehicle, this came fully inspected, warrantied, and in great condition. IT has been super fun to drive, very stylish, and quite duel efficient (over 30 mpg). The handling and acceleration is so good that it has helped me avoid several accidents over the years by getting out of the way of inattentive drivers quickly. About a year after I bought the car, the soft-top roof was slashed by a car burglar. My insurance company (Progressive) ordered an original replacement from the factory with professional installation. This car has been very reliable, and I have carefully looked after it. I found a mechanic who specializes in performance vehicles (who personally owned his own MR2 Spyder) to perform all repairs and all but the most routine maintenance. Most issues were corrected before they became big problems He has recommended the current tires (about one year old), replaced the clutch and flywheel (less than a year ago), and most recently, the brakes and calipers. The battery was replaced last year. I have all receipts and records. The car just passed inspection. I would keep it for another 10 years if I did not need money for my wedding. I have another car that I now use as my daily commuter, so I have been driving this one only on the weekends or when the weather is just right. There is some very minor cosmetic damage (visible in photos) from a low-speed sideswipe and a little chipped paint. The quote I received for fixing this was about $450.00 (less than my insurance deductible), so I have not had that done. I spent my money on brakes and tires instead.
