2004 Mazda RX-8 Shinka Trim in Black Cherry Mica (Rolling Chassis) Location: Woodland Hills, CAPrice: asking $1800 I initially planned for this car to be a 2jz swap, but given some issues I no longer am able to do so. The rotary motor has been suffering from low compression for a while now, but the only rotary shop in my area would not work on this generation's engine. Unsure if it was the starter or carbon lock, but now have no-crank, no-start and have nor the time nor resources to work on it anymore. After I initially got the car, I've been driving it for about 3 years with little to no issues until now. Given, as long as I've had it I haven't done much distance driving, my daily commute is only a few miles each way. I'll be very frank with all information regarding the car: - The car was rebuilt when I came into possession of it. From what I understand, there was no frame damage, and was totalled due to cosmetic damage to the passenger side and the suspension. - like I said above, the car in the current state does not start, and am selling as a rolling chassis or for parting out. - This is a rebuilt salvage title. - I know for a fact that everything else mechanically is in good shape. - It is the Shinka trim, and has: - Bose stereo - Multi-disk in-dash CD-changer - Satellite radio - Electric heated leather seats - Sunroof - It does have some issues as well: - Paint on roof and trunk is oxidized from being parked in the sun of the marina. - Passenger-side wheels (which were paint matched to body) were curbed by the last mechanic. - Miscellaneous micro scratches from my neighbor's a-hole cats. - The center speaker in the dash is blown and crackles at certain frequencies at higher volume. - Leather on steering wheel worn down Completely irrelevant information I feel like I should include: - Registered through October 2017 - Passed CA SMOG in December (so if you can bring it back to life, congrats.) - Relatively new tires (less than 5000 miles) - New Air Filter, Ignition Coils, Spark Plugs (although with its current state, probably fouled) If you need any more information regarding the car or want any additional pictures, let me know. I do apologize for the bad pictures but they were taken in a break during the storm I am trying to sell relatively quickly because I don't have the parking space for it anymore. I'd preferably sell to someone who plans on either swapping in a new engine or a LS/2JZ to bring it back to life, but if I can't find a home for it, its going to my local scrap yard.
