Vehicle Detail
Hello 2002 Fans, you are bidding on a 1975 BMW 2002 Sunroof Coupe with an automatic transmission. I bought her six months ago with the intention of restoring it but have since sold my shop and virtually all of my cars. I've always been a fan of 2002's but had never owned one. I particularly liked the color green (BMW - mintgrun). The color personifies the feeling of the times. 1975 was, for me, a great year in high school and I remember that the 2002 was an expensive Corvette killer, with only 4 cylinders. I would have never purchased the automatic transmission then, but today, with cell phones, coffee mugs and the like, an automatic better suites our culture. There are few manual transmission new cars available today - unless they are very expensive sportscars. In some cases, ordering a manual transmission is now an option! So, the auto trans lets my daughter and wife drive the cars I purchase. It was that simple. I am placing below the exact wording of the advertisement for this BMW when I purchased it - nothing has changed. Further, I am offering her at no reserve. Despite what I paid for the car, it is sitting in my driveway now and must go. If it bids to $5 - it'll sell. There is no starting bid either. Truly my loss is your gain. I would expect prompt pickup please (or I'll risk divorce :) ) . Here is the original wording when I purchased the 2002: This is a 1975 BMW 2002 E10 “The engine currently runs but the intake valve on the #1 cylinder is leaky. The original heater and air conditioner have been removed and replaced with a smaller heater. There is a small ding in the windshield and some cracks on the interior dash. Please see photos. The pros-recent work done: balanced wheels & remounted tires, new exhaust manifold & flange gaskets, muffler & exhaust, thermostat, tie rods, control arms & bushings w/alignment, front & rear brakes, battery, plugs & wires, ignition coil, fuel line, electronic ignition installed, fuel filter and alternator belt. There are no leaks to the cabin or trunk area, so the original interior is still very nice for its age. Then hand crank sunroof is stiff but still works nicely and all windows move up and down easily. This car was my daily driver for years and is still a good car. Overall it’s a fun car and a good car to drive.” She is not rust free with typical rust in the quarters - This is your chance to own this 1975 BMW 2002 for a very reasonable price. Please inspect the pictures - you are also free to inspect the car in person with an appointment. There is some paperwork that goes with the car and some spare parts in the trunk. Again, I have done nothing to her and she needs to go ASAP. Please be ready to buy when you click. A non refundable $500 deposit is due at purchase and final payment within 7 days. Balance is to be paid by bank wire or a certified bank cashier’s check. Check will need to clear before the vehicle will be released and title is sent. The winning bidder needs to contact me within 24 hours of auction end to make payment arrangements. Please arrange all financing prior to bidding. If you are not sure about something please ask! Do not assume anything. All non-paying high bidders will be reported to EBay. General Information: She is an old car - so it is being sold AS-IS - where is. There is no warranty of any type. People have different opinions and expectations of old cars. It is your responsibility to inspect the vehicle or send a third party inspector for your satisfaction. Remember this is a 41 year old vehicle and can have some imperfections. I had a bad experience with a ruthless dealer that wanted to buy a classic from me and triple the price the next day! If you are buying and paying for this vehicle please contact your transporter after vehicle is picked up and within the 2 hours please give me a positive feedback! This is your chance to own this great classic.
