The La Grange (Cook County) Illinois Police Department is offering the following vehicle for sale through eBay auction: 1998 Honda Accord LX Sedan 4-Door 2.3L with 176,104 miles THIS IS A VILLAGE-OWNED (SEIZED AND FORFEITED) VEHICLE AND MUST BE SOLD ACCORDING TO ILLINOIS LAW; IT MUST BE SOLD IN AN AUCTION-TYPE SETTING SUCH AS EBAY. Again, the 3rd brake light is out2. Again, the power door locks do not work3. Again, The lighted front driver and passenger mirror lights do not work4. The vehicle will need a new battery5. The vehicle maintenance light is on (possibly due to an overdue oil change)6. There is some rust/bubbling of paint on the driver's door7. The driver's side front hub cap is missing8. There is a stain in the paint on the hood of the vehicle9. There are two rust spots on the passenger side front corner of the hood10. There is some paint chipping in the roof of the vehicle11. There are spots on the trunk where the paint is "chipping"12. There is a small dent in the trunk13. There are minor scratches, dings, dents, paint chips, and rust spots about the vehicle (mostly normal wear-n-tear) MAINTENANCE RECORDS:Due to this being a seized/forfeited vehicle, we do not know about the p[ast history or maintenance records other than the CARFAX report. CARFAX notes four (4) owners, fifteen (15) services records, and registration history. The vehicle was NOT reported as a salvage, junk, rebuilt, fire, flood, hail or lemon vehicle through CARFAX. No accidents or Damage was reported on this vehicle and there appears to be no open recalls. DISCLAIMER:The vehicle, again, is a village-owned (seized and forfeited) vehicle and MUST be sold according to Illinois law; it MUST be sold in an auction-type setting such as eBay. There is NO Buy-It-Now option. We will NOT accept any trades for this vehicle-please do not ask. The vehicle is being sold AS IS and with NO existing warranty; neither express nor implied. The vehicle does appear to start (once jumped due to bad battery), run and drive well. The only negatives known to us are stated above in the negatives. Potential bidders are encouraged to view the vehicle in person prior to the bidding process as there may be imperfections/defects that we are not aware of. Potential bidders may have an independent inspection completed on the vehicle prior to the bidding process and at their own expense. The winning bidder is responsible for the pick up of the vehicle within seven (7) days of the close of the auction or contacting us for additional time needed. The winning bidder may contact a private shipping service to transport/deliver the vehicle at their own expense. We will NOT deliver/ship the vehicle. We request that the winning bidder make a deposit through PayPal within 48 hours of the close of the auction. However, the winning bidder MAY pay in full with either CASH or CERTIFIED BANK CHECK ONLY upon pick up of the vehicle in Lieu of the PayPal deposit. We do NOT accept credit cards or personal checks. Upon pick up of the vehicle, we will provide a bill of sale and clear title.
