96 Roadmaster sedan 66k Up for bid is a 1996 Buick Roadmaster baretop sedan with 66k Virginia miles - same owner from 12k to 61k miles (fuel mileage log in glovebox). Collectors Edition like every other 96 Roadmaster. Solid body, nice interior. Boasting GMs Corvette inspired multiport injected 5.7L LT1 V8 engine and 4L60E 4 speed automatic transmission, she puts down plenty of power. Base 2.56 rear open gears. Delivers consistent 16 in town and 25 highway at 70 mph. Very nice overall - no notable dents or rust, solid undercarriage. Runs and drives great - drive anywhere. Car has a clean title, all original paint, no damage. But Virginia DMV shows an insurance company reported to VA a loss on 11/8 (a few weeks ago - not sure how). I am trying to rectify, but no certainties I can get it fixed. Check over car all you like. Car has a class III hitch that was used to haul the owners power scooter. Condition Report ENGINE: Runs on all eight cylinders without smoking, missing or knocking. Engine runs at proper temperature. Good battery & charging system. Starts easy and runs strong. TRANSMISSION: Performs beautifully. Engages gears quickly and shifts through all forward gears and reverse with good downshift and torque converter performance. Clean fluid with no burn odors. EXTERIOR: Body: Body is in exceptional condition with no notable dents or dings. Totally straight down the sides. Above average body. Paint: Paint is very nice and all original! The only complaints are some clearcoat fade on bumpers, and a small scratch on passenger door. Way above average for age. Other: Lower stainless bright trim is very nice with no notable dings or dents. Windshield has a chip so tiny I can barely get it in a photo, and all other glass is good. Undercarriage is solid with only surface rust on exposed areas - see the pics. Underhood sheet metal, trunk sill and door jambs have NO rust as seen in pics. Hubcaps are in great shape as seen in pics. INTERIOR: Interior of the car is in very nice shape. Dash has no cracks and is still shiny. Cloth seating areas are in great shape with a few singe marks on drivers seat from something long ago as there are no smoke odors. Carpet in seating area is very nice. Headliner is super nice. Steering wheel has only very slight dye wear consistent with low miles. Very nice interior overall. ELECTRICAL STUFF: All inspection items work (lights, horn, wipers, etc.) ALL power options work reliably, including power windows, power locks, dual power seats, hot heat and cold A/C, tilt, cruise, am/fm stereo cassette/CD, power antenna, intermittent wipers, keyless entry, and rear defroster. Car has newer A/C compressor and dryer. DRIVEABILITY: Drives out beautifully. Steering is tight, alignment is good, suspension is tight for a car this size. Brakes work well with good linings. Tires have about 75% tread remaining on a matched set of Michelin whitewall radials. Solid exhaust pipes, no leaks or noise. Check engine light is not lit (except at start up as it should.) No complaints - drive anywhere. Short version terms: Small non-refundable deposit as listed (but fast) by Paypal within 24 hours.
