The La Grange (Cook County) Illinois Police Department is offering the following vehicle for sale: 2006 Dodge Charger Daytona R/T Sedan 4-Door 5.7L with 49,564 miles THIS IS A VILLAGE-OWNED VEHICLE AND MUST BE SOLD ACCORDING TO ILLINOIS LAW; IT MUST BE SOLD IN AN AUCTION-TYPE SETTING SUCH AS EBAY. THERE IS NO BUY-IT-NOW OPTION. WE WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY TRADES FOR THIS VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE IS BEING SOLD AS-IS AND WITH NO EXISTING WARRANTY; NEITHER EXPRESS NOR IMPLIED. NO PRICE ADJUSTMENTS WILL BE GIVEN AND NO RETURNS WILL BE ACCEPTED. THE VEHICLE WILL BE SOLD TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER AFTER THE STARTING PRICE HAS BEEN SATISFIED. THERE IS NO RESERVE ON THIS VEHICLE. POSITIVES:1. The vehicle has a low mileage of 49,564 original miles.2. The vehicle is equipped with the Hemi 5.7L V8 engine.3. The vehicle is rear-wheel drive, uses regular gasoline, has automatic transmission, and is a 4-door.4. The vehicle has air conditioning in good working order.5. The vehicle has power windows, locks, and mirrors in good working order.6. The vehicle has an AM/FM stereo with CD player in good working order.7. The vehicle has an iPod input-front dash as well as a 12V port in the front.8. The vehicle has cruise control.9. All lights, lamps, wipers, horn, defrosters, etc are in good working order.10. The vehicle has adjustable head rests, mirrors in visors, sunglasses holder, and tilt steering wheel.11. The vehicle has outer door guards and a jack in the trunk.12. The cloth seats are in very good condition (clean and not torn).13. The tires are in fair to good condition (65% or better left).14. The vehicle is clean and runs well. NEGATIVES:1. The vehicle has had electrical issues as seen in the maintenance records below. Although some of the issues were resolved by the dealer, other issues were resolved when we removed all emergency lighting and siren. We believe the installer of the emergency lighting/siren wired the lights wrong. Since the lights/siren have been removed, we have not had an issue(s).2. The center console inside the vehicle between the two front seats is missing.3. There is minor paint bubbling/beginning signs of rust on the driver's-side rear wheel well-front (see photograph).4. There is minor paint bubbling/beginning signs of rust on the driver's-side rear wheel well-rear (see photograph).5. There is minor paint bubbling/beginning signs of rust on the passenger-side wheel well-rear (see photograph).6. The tint on the back window is bubbling.7. There is a plug on top of the trunk from where the police radio antenna was mounted.8. The two front vents (driver's-side and passenger-side) are loose.9. There is no spare tire in the trunk. PARTIAL MAINTENANCE RECORDS:1. July 2006, radio would not turn off when doors were opened. The time delay was reset.2. January 2007, the windshield washer fluid was not working and front seat belt were not working. Both items repaired.3. May 2010, electrical issue-warning lights went on, gauges turned off by themselves. Broken wire found and repaired.4. January 2011, control arms, struts, and outer tie rod replaced. Alignment was also completed.5. June 2011, brakes, bearings, and seals all completed.6. November 2011, electrical issue-gauges all went out. Ignition switch high resistance and terminals were loose (repaired).7. January 2012, the vehicle backed into a dumpster. The bumper was repaired/replaced.8. July 2012, the front upper control arms were replaced, front brakes replaced, and the vehicle had an alignment service.9. September 2012, electrical issue-vehicle died out periodically. Coil/ignition switch replaced, tune up, all plugs and coils replaced.10. November 2012, electrical issue-vehicle died out periodically. No problem found by the dealer.11. January 2015, transmission fluid was leaking. The o-ring, plug adapter, guide bushing were replaced with a transmission service completed.12. All oil changes, tire rotations, brake services, routine maintenance, etc. were completed at normal intervals.13. The above are the records that I have-not sure if there are any additional records not in my file. The winning bidder is responsible for the pick up of the vehicle within seven (7) days of the close of the auction or contacting us to make arrangements for additional time. The winning bidder may have a private shipping service deliver the vehicle at their own expense. WE WILL NOT deliver/ship the vehicle.
