2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee LaredoThe Good:Starts up, runs and drives daily. Medium Blue with a CLEAN gray cloth interior. No rips, tears, etc in the cloth. 196K miles. Seriously... the Jeep looks WAY newer than that both inside and out. Auto, COLD A/C, power options. Does not have a sunroof. Stock Laredo options. Body is in GOOD condition for the year... only one small rust spot on the hood and one small dent on the rear hatch which does not affect anything. No rust on rockers or wheel wheels like typical Grand Cherokees. 4WD works great. Transmission shifts smoothly. You should know:Has the "piston slap" that is common in the Jeep 3.0 straight six engines... it's like a dull knocking noise that is heard on start up but goes away when the engine is warm. (Google "Jeep piston slap"). I bought it like that myself and it's done this for a year with no problems. That being said... it does have almost 200K, so it is sold as is. Per my mechanic, heater core needs a flush. Check engine is on... mechanic says it's a "evap detection valve". These are minor problems that are easily fixed... ask your mecnanic! The key is also broken in the ignition (see pic). Long story, but my son broke it off. It's silly... but it starts without a problem... just use the stub or the spare key. Comfortable, strong ride.This was my daily driver until I gave it to my son... to be his daily driver. He's off in college, so we don't need this great vehicle. These jeeps are SUPER mileage vehicles. Get this super vehicle for WAY under 2K!
