Up for sale is a 1985 barn-find 250R. I purchased this from a friend of mine about 2 years ago in hopes of restoring it for my collection. With no spare time and my daughters off to college, I have decided to sell. It was last registered in 1995. I installed a new Uni air filter and spark plug. It starts right up and shifts through all of the gears. It has a Gunnar Gasser twist throttle that was popular back in the day; I do not have the original thumb throttle. It is also missing the original tool box and guard over the front sprocket. There is a crack in the front fender where it mounts to the lower triple clamp, but is not visible from the front of the machine, and it has a Maier rear fender. All else appears to be stock and original. Not many of these left that still start right up and run after sitting 20 years; a real time capsule. It is for sale locally so the auction may end early if it sells. Please ask questions prior to bidding! I do not have the original Certificate of Origin. I notice occasionally when starting, the kick-starter lever slips a bit. It doesn't happen all of the time nor does it prevent the engine from starting. Buyer to arrange pick-up. Thanks for looking.
