1981 Honda GL500 Silverwing. 8,437 miles. I bought this from a friend who was moving and didn't have a place to store it. It had been sitting in his garage for approx. 6 years. It's appears to be stock except for the rear turn signals and addition of the fairing. It's in great condition considering it's a 35 year old bike. I never planned to keep it since I have other motorcycles but I can't help tinkering so I've done some work to it. It runs really smooth. It won't rev past 5000 rpm but I have a theory that the H box on the exhaust may be plugged a little bit with rat nesting. I found a bunch of nest material in both mufflers. New air filter New oil filter and oil change with new o rings Disassembled the brake caliper and cleaned it. Installed new brake pads. New thermostat and new o rings in thermostat housing. Flushed complete cooling system and replaced hoses. New radiator cap. Carbs cleaned with a sonic cleaner and Larry's Carb book. New jets, o rings and gaskets in carbs. New fuel lines. Cleaned fuel valve. New low profile rear turn signals. I still have the originals. It could probably use new fork seals in the near future. I put some air in the forks and it seems to hold. This is a Silverwing non Interstate model. I bought it with the Vetter fairing installed. Vetter fairing is in great condition with a cassette stereo and speakers. I don't know if it functions or not. Sale will include an Interstate trunk, two saddlebags and a service manual. Clear VA title in my name. This is a used bike so there will be no warranty or refund.
