Vehicle Detail
Up for your consideration is a rare 1964 Studebaker Challenger Wagonaire. Only 286 of these were made with the 259 V8 and I imagine even fewer were made with the automatic transmission/V-8 engine combination. I bought with the intention of restoring this rare vehicle back to the original state. All parts are there, and if not, parts are available. Don’t let the “rarity” factor scare you off a person with average welding skills and a ton of motivation can get this car back on the road! I would not consider parting with this car, but a death in my family has altered my plans, and I need to make room for other vehicles that the recently departed held dear. This car comes factory equipped with the original luggage rack, “Appearance Kit” which includes some bright work around the windshield, and hood ornament. The car also came factory equipped with the “Convenience Kit” which included an extra sun visor for the passenger, armrests, etc. The car is also equipped with a push button AM radio and manual antenna (not the reel-type, as I don't think they even offered them by then???) Remember that this was the lowest cost trim level, so many of these “amenities” are not very common to come by on this model. Now for the bad, this car is 100% a project, do not intend to purchase if you are not willing to go through it nut and bolt or use it as a parts car for another restoration. This car does not currently running and will need to be hauled to the final destination. There are the standard rust issues with the car. The driver’s side front floor board is completely gone (please see pictures). Complete replacement floor panels can be found on Classic Enterprises website. There is rust issues in the B-Pillars due to sitting outside for so many years and leaking from the sliding roof rails. The Passenger side B-Pillar is detached at the base (see pictures). The tail gate also has major rust issues at the base of the gate where it is hinged, although it is still attached. There are no brakes to speak of, the front passenger side tire will keep air for only a short time. The driver’s side wing window is completely broken out (all other glass is intact and in good shape). The clock delete dial glass is also broken out. As we all know rare does not guaranteed $$$ and I am selling this car for less than what I paid for it. The main goal is to make room for a good reason. Buyer is responsible for shipping. I have the original clean title on hand. All sales are sold as-is with no returns Deposit of $300.00 by Paypal within 24 hours after auction end. Balance in cash or bank check (cleared funds) within 7 days after auction end. Car can be picked up later but I will need notification ahead of time of the amount of time required. Thank you and happy bidding.
