Vehicle Detail
On the Camaro Forum, it is stated that there are less than 7% of the cars out there that have not been restored. I believe this is one of the those cars. It has been in the same family since day one. In the late 70's is was purchased by his daughter and has been sitting for many years. Rust Report: The car has been kept in a dry environment. The underside is very nice. The pictures will show you no rust in the trunk area, no rust in the rockers and no rust in the floors. When I am talking about rust, it is the stuff that needs major attention. There is surface rust, but I do not see anything that needs repair. There is no rust around the back glass. There is no rust on the dog legs I do not see any rust on the cowl sides. The exterior sheet metal has the usual rust going on. Front corners of the doors have rust, rust on the lower parts of the fenders and the quarters have rust around the arch. The inner rockers are nice; however, they have been altered when the inner lips we cut for wide tires. The documentation game: The glove box is documented with the E70x15 tires. There is also an accessory tag that states the engine, tranny, rear end and carb. The paint is properly cut around the emblem on the trunk. The paint is properly taped on the front valance and on the cowl cover. I included the numbers for the transmission. I hope to confirm the vin during the auction. I need to borrow some mirrors. The correct engine is missing and there isn't a correct intake, carb or distributor. The 12 bolt is missing. There is a 10 bolt in it and seems to be a posi. Still has the twin piston brake calipers and original style rotors. Cowl hidden vin matches, I cannot see the second hidden vin. Selling Points: The interior is in awesome shape. The bucket seats and rear seat are not damaged and are in great shape Headliner is in excellent shape The door panels are in excellent shape, they look like new!Window chrome is in very good shape. This car does run. The engine is decodes to a '68 307. It runs nice, and might be some upgrades on it. I see there is Dolly Parton heads on it. The brakes are marginal. The front right caliper leaks. The car is worth more with the original brakes, so I didn't do anything to make it road worthy. I have welded in a few floors and rockers over the years and if you were to put this on a rotisserie, you wouldn't have to replace anything thing on the underside. The rear valance is nice, the trunk is nice, both inner and outer wheel well housings are nice. The outer's lip has been cut. Under the seat is nice, the floors are nice. I see minimal rust on the drivers side under the glass. The core of the body would need quarter work and I would weld in a wheel lip on the outer housings. I have tried to document the tell tail signs of a real Z28. The painted stripes are correct and there is documentation with the glove box data. Again, I will see if I can verify the vin on the tranny and confirm it is a M22. It is the correct casting numbers. See the ad. The '68 is the most cloned Z out there. This car has good documentation. Unfortunately, it does not have the built with engine and rear end. Bid with confidence. I reserve the right to end the auction early and there is a $200 deposit required for the winning bidder. All deposits are non refundable. Tim 763-245-6507Central time zone On Jul-21-16 at 18:52:08 PDT, seller added the following information: I could not locate the vin on top of the tranny with a mirror. I have posted the case number and tail shaft numbers. There is also a shot of the build date of the tranny. Sorry, that is all I could manage.
