THE SCENARIO IN DETAIL.....PLEASE READ IN IT'S ENTIRETY BEFORE BIDDING! This car was my beautiful daily runner, until recently the car began overheating. I took it to 2 different mechanics locally and they went through the pressure tests, changed the thermostat, coolant flush, etc. and even a comprehensive diagnostic and they were unable to diagnose the issue. After taking it to a 3rd mechanic, I was told the coolant bypass pipe was leaking and this is more than likely the issue, although they wouldn't be sure until it was replaced. Well it turns out the Coolant Bypass Pipe, (Ford part# 3W3Z-8548), has been discontinued and is not available. This appears to be a common problem with these cars and I learned on the Mercury Marauder forum, (http://www.mercurymarauder.net/), there is "coolant crossover delete kit" that I understand, will replace the current factory setup (which involves replacing the coolant bypass pipe). I purchased the kit and took my car to a reputable high performance shop here in Chicago that was willing to take on the job. After they did their due diligence and checked out the engine, they advised the head gasket was blown, blowing white smoke, etc. I wanted to keep this car forever, although I am forced to sell it at the moment. The car ran beautifully up to this point. I always used premium gas and Mobile 1 full synthetic on the oil changes. I originally purchased this car with 82.434 miles from a dealership here in Illinois, approximately 6 years ago. I am not aware of any accidents prior to the purchase. The overall condition is fair/good for the year / mileage. The car starts up, (requires a jump), although I do not recommend trying to drive it. This is a great deal for someone that has has experience with this car and wants to rebuild and keep it for personal use. The car is being sold as is, with no returns. Within 1 year. Recently repaired climate control unit and replaced sensor. (The climate control was directing the air through the wrong vents, when selecting modes - common issue for this car). A/C, Heat perfect. Newer Battery is less than 2 years old 2 Brand New Firestone Wide Oval All season performance tires (Front Tires) Replaced rear shocks and springs (within 3 years) Replaced front grille, clip and rear bumper. (city parking fender benders - city of Chicago) Transmission shifts great Tune up - Spark plugs / coils replaced within 1 year Replaced water pump (within 2 years) Recently passed emissions 2 sets of keys / remotes CONS Various scratches on body, hood and dent on driver's side quarter panel windshield (not OEM), was replaced and there is a crack. Requires replacement Driver's side seat requires re-conditioning, has a rip and noticeable wear. Driver's side front window button will eventually require replacement. It works although you have to press it down a certain way for the window to go down center console is loose and requires repair, leather has a rip Front driver's side rim is slightly bent There is a oil leak from the oil pan. Unfortunately a less than experienced mechanic jacked the car up incorrectly and caused this. Requires engine rebuild Original front floor mats in rough condition Although minimal, some noticeable rust 1 fog light missing / needs replacement This vehicle is being sold as is, with no warranty Terms and Conditions Most banks and credit unions do not finance vehicles older than 1995 or with more than 100K miles.
