...... NO INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS ……..... All the items in my auctions are in "As Found Condition" from local estates and are sold "As Is". I sell mostly vintage and older items and will describe the condition of items as accurately as I can and offer any further information you may require via email. I am not an expert in many of the items that I sell, so please ask questions SO YOU GET exactly what you are expecting. *** Car located in Yorktown,va 23693 *** Up for auction is this 1962 Ford Galaxie 500XL convertible .... The car is unrestored but is ready for the do-it-yourself restorer .... The car has the 390 V-8 4 barrel engine and automatic transmission on the floor console .... This XL edition is much more sporty than the regular 500 Galaxie. In 1962 13,183 Galaxie XL 500 convertibles were produced .... fewer were made, more desirable and harder to find and hence more valuable .... The car is currently not running .... It need a new solenoid .... The carburetor need replacing or overhaul .... I will include a carb overhaul kit. Vehicle Condition: The car is straight but has rust in the body under the body moldings .... The floors and trunk are solid and they have already been repaired .... The paint is faded .... The interior has been restored with seat foam, seat covers and seat emblems purchased from Dearborn Classics. The carpets, door panels, floor mats and scuff plates have been replaced and the console plate rechromed by Royal Silver in Virginia .... The soft top was replaced and the power top mechanism works well .... The leaf springs have been replaced as well as the brake pads and wheel cylinders, control arm bushings, ignition cylinder, starter motor, fuel pump and master cylinder .... A brake line on the driver’s side in the rear is pinched and needs to be replaced .... I will include the parts for this .... Replacement bumpers are good but need to be rechromed .... The chrome body molding is held on in places with sheet metal screws .... The tires are about 10 years old .... The wheel covers are the ford emblem spinner type with spokes.
