Early 1965 289 mustang with an automatic transmission and dual exhaust. It has some of the '64-1/2 features, like the hood for instance. Car was purchased in 2008 as a running and driving car, and has been driven occasionally and as a back-up car since then. The roof racks shown in photos are not included in the sale.Interior was completely redone in 2012 including new seat foam and upholstery, headliner, dash pad, door panels and carpet. Car was also treated to a trunk liner kit. Engine runs good- and transmission shifts properly. The power steering leaks fluid, it may need a replacement hose. The fuel gauge does not work. There is a radio in the trunk that is included with the sale, but the original radio is not installed.The front brakes were upgrades to disc brakes to improve stopping control. The car also received upgraded shocks, heavy duty front and rear springs, and a heavy duty front sway bar. It handles quite well for a mid-60s production car.The body is not perfect, and will need attention at some point. The right front fender was tapped last year, and will need a headlight bucket to be repaired. The passenger floor pan has had a patch by the previous owner. There is bubbling in rear quarters around the wheel arches from rust (see pictures). This is a car that can be restored as you go, or continue to be a decent daily driver with TLC.
