Vehicle Detail

1938 Dodge Coupe with a 1937 Dodge nose, I purchased this car in 1991 , I pulled it out of a barn that was in there since 1974. It was stock when I pulled it out. I have done the work myself over the years and I last had it registered in 2010. I have way over 30 grand invested. You can jump in it right now and drive down the road . The body and all panels have been all sandblasted in and out . Steel panels welded in wear needed . Right now there is no bondo on entire car except for trunk lid . Every panel needs be smoothed , bondo , and finish work . The panels that need the most work are the rear wheel arches and below the trunk . The roof , hood , doors are in excellent shape . The recessed firewall , complete body floors and complete trunk floors are brand new steel . It has pro street rear fender tubs . The doors work off of electric door solenoids and poppers with two remotes . I have all the moldings but the 37 nose mouldings don't exactly match the 38 door and body mouldings but you wouldn't even notice unless you got up close . The firewall is finished painted red . Under the body is finished in gloss black . The door jams and interior is finished in red but will need some touch up . I insulated the roof and floors . I made custom door panels and covered with black cloth . I made kick panels , panels below quarter Windows . The seat needs to be redone . The dash is done in red with VDO gauges .it is a tilt gm steering column . All glass is either new or mint shape , the drivers fly window has a 2 inch crack , nothing to be concerned about . The cowl vent has been sealed . The trunk has custom panels covered in carpet . The trunk Pistons need to be replaced , I drilled a hole in one and put cotter pin through to hold open . The engine is a Chrysler 440 . The transmission is 727 with a reverse valve body with manual shift, no kickdown linkage all manual . The rear end is a custom built ford 9 inch posi built by Currie Enterprises with 3:50 gears . The 440 cam is comp cams #21-213-4, block is 1977 bored .040 . Crank is a cast crank and rotating assembly was balanced by machine shop . Pistons are trw forged , Molly rings , approximately 10:1 compression , flat top Pistons . Rods are reconditioned stock , arp rod bolts , clevitte 77 bearings . Heads are 1970 iron heads, 906 castings, heads milled .010, bronze valve guides , mopar performance valve springs and retainers , stainless valves , 7 degree locks , intake valves 2.08 , exhaust valves 1.74 , stem 3/8 valve spring installed height 1.83/1.86 . Mopar performance heavy duty rocker arms 1.5 ratio. Oil pump mopar performance , wind age tray . Carburetor is a holley 750 on a weiand action plus dual plane manifold, Milled .010 . The exhaust has stock manifolds I can't remember the muffler and size of pipes .It sounds mean has a nice lump in the sound. Ignition distributor is a unit I bought online . Transmission 727 rebuilt using mopar performance , raybestos clutches and Kevlar bands , hemi deep sump kit , bolt in rear sprag , mopar performance turbo action flex plate , torque converter TCI Sizzler 12 inch 300-400 rpm over stock , valve body reverse manual. Ford 9 inch , auburn gear limited slip posi rear tire size 26.5 tall . One major thing I forgot to mention is the entire engine other than ps , water, fuel pump is powder coated , NOT PAINTED, air cleaner all the way to oil pan is powder coated . Trans pan also powder coated . Now onto the frame this has extensive work done to it . The rear frame rails were brought in to make it mild pro street. Rear four bar is stainless NOT chrome. rear coil overs . Stainless panhard bar . Custom driveshaft loop . Rear all new drum brake set up .The front is disc. Front suspension is mustang 2 . The frame and underneath is completely finished in black paint. May need some touch up. Well my fingers are getting tired , if you have any questions ask I am selling this way cheaper than it is worth you will get thumbs up everywhere just the way it sits. I made two videos of it running and odds and ends but I don't know how to upload to e-bay, if you want to see give me your e mail address and I will send. The running boards are fiberglass , every other panel is steel .The actual mileage on car since build is 3276. Miles and mileage on title is 65972 . On the 440 one of the ears on the block where the mount goes broke off, I repaired with nut and bolt , nothing of concern. The frame has been boxed all the way down both sides, every hole and dimple was welded in, also the rear end all the holes and dimples were filled in with weld and smoothed and painted. Just remembered when stuck in heavy traffic or sitting at a long red light always keep your eyes on the temperature gauge, this 440 gets hot real fast, not enough engine compartment to pull enough air through radiator so she will get very hot, as long as you watch temperature gauge its ok. I have had to pull over a few times to let it cool down
