Vehicle Detail
Greetings! This Monte Carlo SS Aerocoupe is a rare car. Only 6052 of these were made in 1987 and this one has been in the family since 1988. It was originally black cherry, but I changed it to black in 2011. This car has never been wrecked and spent most of it's life in either a garage or in storage while I was in the military. The Good: Has a ATK crate 305 engine installed. This was put in around 2007 and has roughly 20K miles on it. (I still have the original engine if you want it) Rebuilt Stage 1 200-4R transmission from Transmission Depot. This was put in around 2012 and has around 3K miles on it. Everything under the hood has been replaced, glass beaded, or rebuilt to include the sensors. All suspension bushings and rubber has been replaced. Magnaflow Catback exhaust system installed. A/C was converted to new R134. Headlights converted to HID Door and trunk rubber replaced. Tinted Windows Pioneer stereo with remote and USB connection Car Alarm The Bad: The A/C needs to be recharged. There is some play in the steering wheel. (Steering column has been replaced, I'm not sure where the play is, but I know it's in the column) The paint job needs some touching up and wet sanding. The only rust spot that I can see is the lower rear quarter panel on the driver side. (I had this repaired when the car was painted and they did not do a good job.) Drivers side seat has some rips in it. (All of the interior is original, the driver seat and carpet are the only things that could use replacement for the car to look better.) Front end was lowered with springs and spindles. I should have only done one and not both. The front tires rub on bumps sometimes. All in all, this car is a lot of fun to drive and turns a lot heads because of it's rarity. I don't have time to finish fixing her though and I think that someone else could enjoy the car more than my garage. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you for looking!
