Vehicle Detail

I purchased this in 1995- had a repaint in about 2005- drove it less than 1,000 miles since purchased- garage kept by the mechanic I have used for years until about 2 months ago when I lost storage- told him to make it road worthy as I realize I will most likely never be able to use it- (broke my back-had to learn to walk again- VA hosp now says I have Parkinson's from Agent Orange exposure)-- Billed me for going over her- said he went over her-changed fluids-etc- rebuilt the carb-new voltage regulator-got her-tuned her up-flushed gas tank-GOF new battery-....etc- drove her home Friday-- - has Fordomatic but no other power assists- no continental kit- I believe it was in 1995 I had added new exhaust with 2 glass packs- and a new neutral switch because I kept forgetting that it didn't start in Park- only in neutral--other than that I didn't change anything-- I am now blind in one eye & use a walker or a cane so I am not even going to try and pull and change fuses below the dash if they are needed -----both side windows have a hairline cracks in them- the front seat needs repair as there is cracking-/splits the back seat is in ok condition ....its a decent auto just needs a little of your attention to finish her out---- I'm not adding the mechanics name & # this week due to the # of calls he got last week from tire-kickers taking him away from his work but I did add the additional pictures I was missing last week because I couldn't get around the car then - the mileage showing is just under 52000 but I have no way of knowing if that was accurate or not -I don't know if I will have the ability or time to clean her up further as she has been in an unheated garage for about last 20 yrs & I don't move around very well yet...she needs new webbing around her doors-vent locks-has hairline cracks in both door glass-needs front seat recovered but back seat looks ok-just needs a cleaning-headliner looks ok- I did drive her home & she runs fine-just a little stiff from sitting so long-didn't realize how spoiled we get with power steering-but remembered how those larger steering wheels got in our way at the drive-ins--I had put new wide whites on her in 1995- car has tinted glass & a 2 bbl carb Buyer to arrange for own shipping- or come by and drive it away $ 1,000.00 non refundable down payment to be received within 72 hours of auction close-balance payable by cash or cashiers check 7 day auction- based on what I see being offered on ebay this car has a very low reserve -this is not a pristine Crown just a decent car for the $ & needs you to finish things to your liking & don't be like the last guy who asked the mechanic about her- showed up -drove her then came back with his trailer-took my time-then was telling me how he bought several other crowns in better shape for so much less & pulled the old dealer manure wanting to renegotiate the price down--he knew the price b4 he came back-took the mechanics time &-my time-,I was not looking to trade her in-- so I told him to take his trailer & leave. Note she is advertised elsewhere & please do not contact me looking to trade your classic car-I'm lucky to be out of a wheelchair,,, but thanks for looking On May-22-16 at 12:11:57 PDT, seller added the following information: added note-today (Sun) I made my way to the car with the intent to try & clean it up some but couldn't physically do it ( too hot out-too bright of sun) but I did see that what I thought was grease on the lower front bottom corner -see the picture-after looking closer is a separation in the vinyl-I can only attribute missing that to my being blind in my right eye & only driving it about 7 miles in 2005 and driving it back and forth to the old car Sat.nites at the A&W during the summers in 1995 & 1996..If I did notice it at the time I bought it,I forgot about it as it sat idle in a garage for the 21 years. (I used to start it and run the engine every few months, put fresh gas in, then add stabil -) I got it repainted as I was going to retire just b4 I found my now ex-wife had 10 credit cards I didn't know about with an outstanding balance of $146,000 to cover her casino losses.... On May-24-16 at 09:10:35 PDT, seller added the following information: Note I am going in for surgery-be gone for a few days & most likely not answering any more question during this weeks auction- getting weary of people asking me what about past/present rust issues- if they read this listing- simple addition & subtraction would tell them the car was 40 yrs old when I bought it- I'm not a mind reader-I don't know what happened in those 40 yrs- simple deduction would tell them if the floors-trunk-1/4's-rear fenderwells etc were rusted thru I wouldn't have purchased it-I'm not a project car kind of guy & I certainly would not have been driving it to the week--end old car meets & parking it in a garage for 21 yrs & taking it out one time & spending money to have it repainted- I havent been out of a wheelchair long enough to get around to do the remaining cosmetics I had left to do & described,,,the guy I bought it from in 1995 got divorced & remarried & inquired about buying it back--he was not the original owner so he doesn't know about rust repairs-he said since I have 3 upcoming surgeries-if it doesn't sell I can drive it over to his home & he will store it -in the meantime he may be able to put the $$ together for it...He had a current GOF when I bought it-my mechanic among things he did was another GOF-I have never been under the car-not in any shape to crawl under there now-& I'm not willing to take another chance driving with the expired license plate to go back to the shop -have it put on a lift & inspect it & then drive it back home & explain to the cops why I am driving with an old plate...the states that surround the lower portion of Lake Michigan are called the rust belt because among other reasons they use salt & other chemicals on the road to fight snow- the IL-Wisc border here is in what is called the rust belt. The floors are currently solid-the trunk floor is solid-if there were any rust repairs to the outside body they were not and are not visible to me- And please-no more questions about what I will sell the car to you for and end the auction....and everyone dreams about becoming the one who finds a 61 yr old car in a barn with 6100 miles on it that they can buy for $6,100 and do nothing but wash it & put fresh gas in it ....this car is what I have described here...needs you to do the remaining cosmetics & whatever suits you.....& you should be in it for less than the others out there unless you buy a junker or total rebuild or parts car
