Vehicle Detail

1967 Ford Mustang Up for your bid is a beautiful 1967 Ford Mustang which has had an extensive rotisserie restoration performed. Please take the time to read this ad and also to look at all the photos of this beautiful Mustang. I personally believe that the odometer reading of 52,000 miles is the original miles. The windshield safety sticker on the car was from 1979. So this Mustang has been sitting in a garage for the past 37 years before I got to restore it. To start, this Mustang was completely taken apart to its bare shell and then stripped to bare metal. From there, any metal that was rusted was completely and cleanly cut out and replaced with new high quality replacement panels. “No cheap Taiwan panels were used in this restoration”. After the metal was replaced where necessary, the car went through a very extensive rebuild. A magnitude of “NEW” parts were replaced and installed to make this Mustang look and perform like new. Please look at all the photos to see all the work and new parts that were replaced. The main structure of this Mustang was very clean to begin with and very solid. Things such as the frame rails front and rear and torque boxes were very solid and rust free. The floor pans did have some pin holes in the normal places so I replaced both right and left full pans from lower firewall area to the fronts of the rear seat. All panels were mig welded properly using a wire feed with 75 25 inert gas for excellent penetration. No crappy flux core wire. After all the main body floors were finished I began body working the underside and engine compartment of the car and prepped them for primer sealer. Three coats of DuPont filling primer sealer was applied then wet sanded smooth. After the underside and engine compartment were wet sanded, they were then cleaned and prepped for paint. A total of seven coats of DuPont 2014 BMW Black Diamond Pearl Metallic base-coat was applied followed by five coats of DuPont high solids poly urethane clear. As you can see in the photos the underside shines just as nice as the topside of the body. The body itself on the Mustang was totally stripped to bare steel and lightly body worked where needed. Both left and right door shells were replaced as well as the trunk lid and the Shelby style hood. The main reason for the doors and trunk lid being replaced was that there was some light rust starting where the skins and shell were put together. Anyone that knows about bodywork will attest that when you get rust in those areas it’s better to replace the part than to cut it up and load them with body filler. The doors and trunk lid are of very high quality and fit the car perfectly. Take notice of the door and body gaps. They’re spot on. The front fenders are the originals from 1967 from what I can see, and were in excellent condition with no rust issues. The hood is a Shelby style with a steel frame under-structure and functioning ram air to the engine. This not only looks great with the body style of the car, but will also help to keep the engine breathing nice cool fresh air during those hot summer days of high outside temperatures. The body of the Mustang was prepped and three coats of DuPont primer sealer was applied then wet sanded smooth. After that, the car then had seven coats of DuPont BMW Black Diamond Pearl Metallic base-coat applied, followed by seven coats of medium silver for the stripes, and five coats of DuPont high solids poly urethane clear over the entire body of the car. After the paint was cured it was then stage sanded starting with 1000 wet all the up to 5000 wet. It was then buffed to a beautiful shine. There are also 1/8 inch pinstripes running down the silver on the car to accent the color combination. Pretty much everything on the mechanical side of this Mustang is new. To start, all the brake system is new with all new pre-bent lines, wheel cylinders, master cylinder, power booster, shoes and hardware and all the rubber soft lines. The front wheel bearings are also new as well as the front seals. The car also has new front and rear shocks as well as new 225/60R15 BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires mounted on new 15x7 Magnum 500 chrome wheels with new lug nuts and centers. The wheels were static balanced so there are no ugly wheel weights on the front of the wheels to ruin the look of the 500’s. Next the drive-train. When I bought the car it was all apart and I bought it as a project car for myself. I was told that the engine was a 302 cid and was rebuilt, an only had a few thousand miles on it. I was told it came out of a 71 Mustang he had that was all rusted out and wasn’t worth fixing. So he bought this 67 Mustang to restore and then realized he got way in over his head. Didn’t realize how much work was involved as well as dedicated time and money in restoring a classic like this. When I removed the intake and oil pan I did see that there were new gaskets and the inside of the engine was spotless. The oil pump looked to be new as well as a dual timing chain and gears. The head gaskets were new so I didn’t take off the heads. Looking at it on the engine stand, it looked like the pistons were also new but I can’t say for sure. The inside of this engine looked super clean as if it was just gone through just as I was told by the person I bought the car from. The engine also has a new aluminum intake manifold topped off with a new out of the box Edelbrock 600 cfm four barrel carburetor with an electric choke. On top of that is a new Shelby style oval air cleaner assembly and Ford Racing aluminum valve covers. The engine also has new headers hooked to a new 2 ½ inch exhaust system from Summit Racing Equipment which goes all the way out the back. There also two brand new stainless steel exhaust tips. The exhaust is tucked up tight to the floor so there should be no chance of scraping or bottoming out. There is also a new heavy duty radiator and cap, heavy duty water pump, heater core and all new coolant hoses with factory style hose clamps. The heater hoses are also a Ford Motor Company style heater hose with the stripe running down the side of the hose. The starter is new and the charging system was gone through and checked. The charging system is charging back to the battery 14.8 volts at an idle and with everything turned on such as high beam lights wipers and blower motor it still charges out at a very nice 14.4 volts. The battery is also new and is a gold series battery with new starter and engine cables. The transmission also looked super clean inside with no burnt smell in the fluid and it also had new front and rear seals as well as the pan gasket. When I took the pan off there was no clutch material or metal in the pan. It was very clean and the transmission also has a new flywheel. Also guessing it was gone through. I was told the rear end had new axle bearings and seals replaced and from what I could see they looked to be in great condition. The gear oil was clean and had no signs of contamination. The lighting. All the lighting on the car has been upgraded. The headlights are now halogen for safer driving at night as well as all the brake/turn signal bulbs were upgraded for brighter viewing during the day or night. The brake light lenses as well as the front turn signal lenses are all new. The Mustang also has a new set of factory style fog lights which are controlled by a dash mounted switch with an indicator light. The interior is also pretty much all new. The front seat foams and all upholstery on them is new. The carpet and under-layment is also new. The upper and lower dash pads and all the wood-grain dash inserts for the gauges and across the dash are new. The clear plastic gauge covers were replaced and a new Bosch tachometer was installed where the clock would be. It was custom fit from behind the cluster and there was no chopping or hacking up the dash to make it work. It really looks like it would have come that way from Ford if somebody didn’t know better. Look for yourself at the photos. The radio is only the stock AM radio and I didn’t hook it up because whoever buys the car would pick out one of their own personal preference. The radio chrome bezel is new and I might suggest to buy a radio that fits the car so you don’t have to cut up a brand new piece. The glass on the car looks to me to be original with some marks on the rear window but could be polished out with some cerium oxide. The vent window chrome does have some light pitting but in my opinion it’s not that bad. Also the rear side windows have some on the inside but this is to be expected given this car is almost 50 years old. Now for the pretty stuff or as they call it, the jewelry. All the stainless steel trim on the Mustang is new. Both front and rear bumpers and mounting hardware is new. Back-up lights and bezels are new as well as all the taillight chrome pieces around the lenses. The trunk trim, all letters and emblems as well as all wheel molding are new. The front grill and all the stainless trim in the front of the car and hood are new. The stainless steel rocker covers and the roof gutter trim are also new. The gas tank and sending unit assembly have been replaced as well as the GT gas cap. All new. Have I said new a lot? Yep sorry but if I don’t you wouldn’t understand how much money I spent on this Mustang. I built this car for myself so I could have a great cruising car for the summer and all the cruise nights, but unfortunately due to some unexpected medical and other bills, I have to put this car up for sale. This car is so new off the build, I only drove it about 15 miles if that. Yes it’s heart breaking to me to have to sell it but I will build another one in a year or so whenever I can afford to do so. In my opinion this is a beautiful Mustang and would be a great cruiser for those summer days and nights. This is not a show car or a trailer queen, nor was it ever intended to be or described as such. But it is in my opinion a very high point driver that will turn many people’s heads and bring loads of good conversation with other cruise night fans. If you wanted to take this Mustang to the next level it wouldn’t take much at all to get it there. A little more blocking with some 5000 wet sand and a little more goodies here and there and you will have what you’re looking for. I’ve built many cars in my days and I just wanted to have a really nice Mustang to drive and have some fun with this summer, but for now it will have to wait. I have pretty much described this car as best as I know it, but I am sure I forgot to list something that I have replace new. If you have any questions about the car or the work that was preformed, please feel free to ask and I will do my best to answer them. This Mustang also has a reserve I have set to what I feel is a very fair price, so please don’t ask what the reserve price is. I don’t give the reserve price out because I don’t feel it would be fair to someone else who might be bidding on it also. If you like the car please bid what you feel you would be comfortable bidding. You just might win the Mustang by doing so. Even though this Mustang has had a rotisserie restoration and is running and driving with loads of new parts, it is being sold as is where is with warranty or recourse. So if you have any questions please ask and I will do my best to answer them. Thank you very much for looking and happy bidding. NOTE:For any first time bidders or bidders with less than 10 positive feedback's. You will have to contact me first before bidding or I will cancel your bid due to lack of positive feedback's. Anyone with any negative feedbacks due to nonpayment for goods, I will cancel your bid.
