Vehicle Detail
If you are looking for a Prowler, this is the one to have. With only 2,500 miles on the odometer , pristine paint and bodywork, a like-new interior, the car looks and drives like the day it rolled out of the showroom . According to Wikipedia there were only 457 Plymouth Prowlers produced in 1997 , and my friend paid a substantial premium to be one of the first enthusiasts to get his (Included in the sale is his original Purchase Order for $62,000). In total between 1997 - 2002 there were only 8,532 Plymouth versions manufactured (and, later, an additional 3,170 Chrysler-badged versions after the Plymouth brand was discontinued) . As a first-year car, presented in the classic 1970's MOPAR color of "Plum Crazy" purple, this one should be a highly desirable collectible item in the not-too-distant future. The car is as close to "showroom-new" as a 19 year old car can be. It has been used exclusively for local car shows and cruises, during it's time in Florida it has been kept in air-conditioned storage, and has never seen rain . Originally purchased by a friend and neighbor in Connecticut, I bought it from him when he had to do a "Two-Kids-In-College Tuition Liquidation". After owning the car in Connecticut for a few years, I retired and relocated the car to my current home near Naples , Florida. The car is perfect for someone who wants a very reliable, good-looking , and very fun toy that they won't have to tinker with . It's hot-rod styling is an attention-getter wherever it goes. Built largely of aluminum, the car is 100% rust-free. It's nice to know that you can own this car for years without worrying about rust or a bubbling re-paint ever being a problem like you'd eventually have with most classic cars. Aluminum construction also makes the car extremely light and agile, and quite peppy with its 6 cylinder engine and "autostick" (manually shiftable) automatic transmission. The car is simple to maintain and can be serviced at any Chrysler dealer , making it a joy to own for anyone looking for fun without the hassles of a traditional Hot Rod. I have loads of original documentation (and a car cover) which will be included with the car. I am selling the car to make room in my garage for a "project car" that I want to tinker with as a retirement hobby. The reserve is quite reasonable, and I am including a buy-it-now price. If you are interested, I can e-mail more pictures, send copies of the documentation, and / or arrange a test-drive. The car has a clear Florida title, and is located at my home in Marco Island, Florida and I can help with your transportation arrangements.
