Vehicle Detail
I can arrange for shipping in both open or enclosed trailer, nationwide. One owner from 1995 to 2013, who built the car and documented the whole process ($24,794 in receipts that go with the car!!!). The first thing that was worked on was the motor: it was built by renowned Morgan International Race Engines of Maryland (comes with full build sheet). 362 balanced Small BlockEFR 190cc Aluminum headsMarch Performance billet serpentine belt setupCompetition cams (CS 280H-10 Hydraulic), Competition valves (2.020 intake, 1.60 exhaust), 9.7 compression ratio (runs on pump gas with no problems), Crane rockers, Holley 750 CFM double pumper, Wheiland Stealth dual plane intake, HEI distributor, MSD module, Accell wires, aluminum radiator with electric fan, mechanical fuel pump, full stainless steel exhaust, 12 bolt posti-traction rear with 4:11 gears, rebuilt (in 2012!) legendary Turbo 400 transmission2200 rpm stall convertertrans cooler15x7 Are Outlaw front rims with 225/70/185 tires15X8 Are Outlaw rear rims with 275/60/15 tires13 inch front disk brake conversion with aftermarket racing calipers New bushings and grease fittings, new hardware etc... etc... etc... No rot or rust on floor pans, trunk pan, bottom of doors, rear quarters etc... Still retains it's original factory undercoating. Has a raised cowl induction fibreglass hood. While it's not a detailed undercarriage the car needs no excuses made for it. It has power steering and power brakes and a nice aftermarket radio and speakers that sound pretty good (much better than stock, for sure). It was painted in 2010 in jet black with metal flakes, it's not a show paint, but it looks good when clean and the blemishes here and there are not very noticeable unless looked at closely. Chrome and stainless steel trim are very presentable, one of the wheel well moldings is a little dinged up, I'd probably remove them all together for a cleaner look. Black interior, bucket seats with console and horse-shoe shifter finished with wood-grain accents. The interior is in need of restoration, it is driver grade quality and fully functional but not detailed nor pretty. Rear seats are torn and door panels are tired. Dash is complete and largely unmolested. An extra set of gauges is also located on the front windshield pillar. The car was built slowly over time by it's owner and enjoyed as a cruiser and show car. The build has less than 5000 miles on it as the car has largely sat in a garage most of it's life (and currently is). It only covered about 1000 miles in the last 2 years. It's extremely well dialed in and drives amazingly well. The best parts (and where most of the money was spent) are the drive-train and chassis. It starts and idles perfectly every time, no drain from the battery even after sitting for long, and awesome to drive. The built motor and the high end exhaust produce an authoritative exhaust note (nobody will have a doubt about how "built" this unit is as soon as you blip the throttle), and the car rolls down the road straight as an arrow. It was never dynoed so exact power figures are not known but it is very fast, I think it produces around 450 REAL HP and a massive amount of torque. Tap the accelerator at any speed and it launches like a rocket. Not a lot of stuff out there than can out-accelerate this one. It has always been serviced properly, in the last 2 years it got (all documented with receipts): - 09/14 oil and filter change, new battery, new electric fan and thermostat- 06/15 oil and filter change, new MSD wiring, new distributor rotor, new power steering and alternator belt, inspection of brakes and suspension parts- 11/15 new starter- 01/16 oil and filter, new power steering pump and hoses, new rear brake cylinders, new vacuum lines, new fuel lines. Last serviced by Fleming's Ultimate Garage of MD. The car currently needs nothing, I would not hesitate to drive it cross country (maybe I'd change the gears to something taller first!). Extremely reliable and fun, mechanically flawless, this is a fantastic car for the price, that you can drive while you decide what to do with the interior. I just added (3/21) pictures of engine bay, trunk, interior and undercarriage. There is some glue residue in the trunk and it could definitely use a good cleaning and some speckle paint, but it's solid and healthy as the rest of the car. P.S.I work at Fleming's Ultimate Garage, I sell and buy high end classic cars for a living. This is my very good friend's car that I helped him buy a couple of years ago. He wanted to make it into a fully restored daily driver, but after enjoying it a little over the past couple of years (and buying other cars) he determined this motor is just too built for him and it makes no sense to spend the money to tone it down. So he is ready to let it go to someone who will like the build and he will search for a more tame 1970 black Monte. If you have one that fits the bill, we might consider trading up, down or equal. I am a professional in the field so while I am doing this outside of my place of business, I can still answer any questions you might have to the best of my ability: ask any questions BEFORE BIDDING and good luck. I love driving this car.
