1989 Ford Mustang GT Convertible . 5.0L with 5 speed manual . Mileage ~ 101,706 , car is driven so may increase slightly . Here is the story of the car : An 87 year old man brought vehicle into a local repair center for various repairs and made friends with some of the shop mechanics . He was always welcome to come work on his vehicle and hang out in the shop . He stated that he owned the car since almost new . Car was originally blue and sometime during ownership the man had it sprayed pearl white ( decent repaint w some items taped rather than removed but all in all a nice spray ) . The last time in the shop the man used the facilities and came out and did not know where he was . Family came and the man was put into a home and car was left outside under a tree . Family was contacted a year later and did not want car back and abandoned reconstructed title was applied for and issued . Car runs , drives , shifts and stops as it should . Interior is in better than average condition . Paint shines well but does have minor flaws here and there . Tires are Goodyear Eagles and are in great condition . Factory wheels are slightly faded but in good condition . Top works but rear windows are a bit fussy at times ( top cover in trunk and is in good condition . Owners manual in glove box . Wipers and washer sprayers not working ( man installed new wiper switch but problem wasn't resolved ) . Fog lamps were removed for some reason and are in the trunk . The man did do some miscellaneous touch ups on steering wheel and door handles that look less than good . Rear cover damaged ( possible repair but probable replacement needed ) . Occasionally the negative battery cable must be tightened or car no cranks due to clamp to battery connection . Newer exhaust on vehicle with a nice slightly louder than stock sound . The car after sitting loses fuel pressure and the key must be cycled a few times to get the pump to get fuel to start . The tank seal needs replacement . New Ford tank seal comes with car . Biggest problem with the car is the driver side shock tower . Metal work and repairs will be needed due to rust issues . After some internet research it appears to be a common problem and semi easy fix on these fox body cars .Please only bid if you intend to buy !!!
