Vehicle Detail

You are looking at a 2004 Chrysler Crossfire Coupe with very low mileage. Under the hood looks almost brand new. This vehicle has a few cosmetic issues but is mechanically sound. I am selling it because I am preparing to move and a 2-door sports coupe is no longer practical. Cosmetic issues: - Clear coat has faded on the top of rear bumper, windshiled trim and spoiler. Please see pictures of the car to see it. Body shop says this cannot be buffed out but the bumper will have to be repainted at a cost of $600. I haven't had the time to do that. - Two rock chips in the finish on the hood which can be seen in the picture of the hood - Curb rash on the passenger side wheels before I acquired the vehicle. - While I was repairing this car and installing a new stereo system (I still have the original system and will include, if desired) the vehicle was broken into and new stereo stolen and although I replaced the stereo, there is a slight nick on the edge of the drivers door where they jimmied it open.Vehicle History:This vehicle has quite a history. I acquired the vehicle from my neighbor who purchased it from the original owner. The vehicle sat for a few years, wouldn't start. The gentlemen was in a depression and let the vehicle languish for more than 3 years under a carport. My neighbor acquired it with the intent of fixing it. The mobile mechanic who came out to fix the vehicle diagnosed a bad Engine Control Module (ECM). This mechanic took $1700, the original ECM and was never heard from again, until 9 News caught up with him. My neighbor was frustrated and sold this car to me. I replaced the ECM with a Mercedes Bosch ECM which I had programmed to the vehicle at Johnson Auto Plaza Chrysler in Brighton. With a new crankshaft position sensor, and oil change this vehicle was running in less than a week. It passed emissions and was registered shortly thereafter. I've put about 4,000 miles on it since then. Two of the tires had flat spots that developed into problems and were replaced. The other two are original tires. Besides these two issues, the transmission started weeping fluid from the pan gasket (from sitting so long) after the first 1000 miles of driving so replaced the gasket, the transmission filter and had the transmission filled with AMSOIL transmission fluid meeting the Mercedes / Chrysler specs. The center cup holder tends to stick and I bough a replacement but have not yet installed it but will include it with the auction. The vehicle has no other issues of which I am aware. Buyer is responsible for a $400 deposit upon winning the auction to secure the vehicle and 7 days to secure full remaining payment. I will transfer title and provide vehicle emissions certificate upon payment in-full and buyer will be responsible for shipping or vehicle pickup. This vehicle is listed locally as well so I reserve the right to terminate this auction early if it sells before the end of the auction. On Mar-25-16 at 09:07:45 PDT, seller added the following information: I've been asked to post some more interior photos which I have uploaded, about power options and the cosmetic issues. The car does have power windows, locks, spoiler (which can be manually deployed or comes up automatically at 60 MPH and back down below 40), seats are power and the seats are also heated. The W/S selector on the transmission is for winter and summer driving. Because it is a rear-wheel drive vehicle the winter selection bypasses first gear so you don't fishtail as much coming from a stop on a slick surface. In terms of cosmetic issues, the small nick on the drivers door, the fading of the bumper and the windshield trim are all very fixable if you have a good body shop and are concerned about it. I was quoted $600 by the local shop here and the guy told me the plastic trim could be painted quite easily myself with touch-up paint. Mechanically this car has not given me any issues. It takes 0W40 oil (I use Castrol, Mobile 1 or AMSOIL) meeting the Mercedes Benz certification. There is an owners manual included with the auction.
