Vehicle Detail
You're bidding on a 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T. 2nd owner, bought in 1973 with 12,000 miles. From the codes on the fender, it was made in Los Angeles, February 5, 1970. A 2dr hardtop, High performance 383 4v, AM radio,(which I have in a box if you want to keep it original, also have the original distributor if you really like setting points). It came with most options except air conditioning; not really an issue while living in San Francisco, but would be nice now in SoCal. Bucket Seats, Console, Remote Outside Mirror, Variable Wipers, Hood Pins, Black Vinyl Top, Light Group, Radio Group, Rally Cluster, Power Brakes (front disc), Banana Yellow, Black Vinyl Interior, Automatic Heavy Duty 727 Torqueflite Transmission. 3 Speed Slap Stick Shift. Original engine and Transmission. Valves, push rods, timing chain and gears were replaced at 92k. Don't know why they put that little aluminum gear with the plastic coated teeth in this engine, but they did. So, aside from the pictures which will give you a good idea of the condition of the body, I'll list some issues. First, it hasn't been driven much since 2003, but it starts and runs. Transmission leaks and doesn't like to shift into 3rd unless you just use the slap stick. Carb needs work, can't decide where it wants to idle . Power steering unit leaks too. Seems hoses and gaskets deteriorate over the years. Pretty sure the water pump needs to be replaced, not leaking but noisy. Don't know how far you can drive it, it doesn't overheat. Would be happy to provide any other pictures or info. On Mar-24-16 at 16:46:51 PDT, seller added the following information: Just to answer some questions that have been asked. No, it's never had any body work done, Yes it's the original paint, Yes I have the California Pink Slip (which means Title to the cars) the engine and transmission numbers are both OE131358. thank you all for your interest!! ,
