Previous winning bidder never responded - (suds5starr) - so frustrating. Please only bid if you can afford and intend to close the sale transaction. You are bidding on a 1978 Volkswagen T2 Vanagon/Transporter Bus. She has 95,000 original miles and is in very presentable condition. This great van starts right up, runs great, steers - stops - shifts very well. Of course, the VW Bus never had great shift linkage when it was new, but if you are looking at this ad, you already know that. A bit sloppy really. The gauges and lights all work fine. A new VW front badge is included! I bought the Van to drive, then restore however have recently purchased a few other collector cars that are going to take precedence. Reluctantly, I am selling the VW. If I had more room, I'd keep her for a future restoration. These T2's are coming into their own (especially the 2.0 liter versions) because the T1's are becoming increasingly more expensive. I am not a dealer any longer. I do, however, have a personal collection of classic cars and a staff that restores them. My children love these buses and asked that I buy one to drive them to school in, however, I can only restore one car at a time. An XKE is now in rotation for a cosmetic restoration. Here are a few issues - The side door glass is cracked. I am locating one and will replace before the new owner takes possession. There is minor surface rust on various parts of the van, nothing that is rusted through, that I can see. It also appears that this van was brown originally. There is also no third row seat - which can had on Ebay. I would have made it a folding bed seat - the seatbelts are there, however, mounted to the floor. She does not smoke. Again, she drives and stops very well. Very fun indeed! Try to take one for a drive without being the center of attention, it's impossible. Included is a teak wood roof rack. It's older but complete - and, with a coat of varnish, would look new. We can, at a cost, do that work for you. We can also paint the van (in fact, we can restore it completely). This is a 1978 Bus which means it has the 2.0 liter engine. It is a much improved motor from previous years. Again, she runs great - no leaks, no smoke. Just a great AFFORDABLE VW bus. There is also an aftermarket exhaust on this bus - and enhances the sound and perhaps, to a small degree, the performance. There is no reserve on this bus.
