Vehicle Detail
This auction is for a very rare 1967 Dodge D100 Custom Sport Special (CSS). I have owned this truck for 11 years now and have only added a few thousand miles to it thus I am thinking of selling it to someone who might spend more time with it and not just crank it up every once in a while to drive around the neighborhood like I do… For those not familiar the CSS package you can get details on the CSS/HPP registry site - http://cssregistry.com/css/whatis.html This particular truck is believed to be a 4 owner truck. The truck was sold new in St. Paul, NE and sold to the gentlemen that restored it in 2002/3. I purchased the truck in 2005 after it underwent full body off bare frame restoration using a lot of NOS and new replacement parts. The truck is currently 1 of 8 documented 1967 CSS trucks in existence http://www.cssregistry.com/css/reg.html Basically the truck was gone through and every nut and bolt was touched and made like new or better than new. Extensive powder coating of the suspension parts and coating of the frame was done. As well of course a complete bare metal restoration of the body and drive line. Details of all work are located on Ben’s site as well as my own http://cssregistry.com/css/67css.html http://dodgeconnection.com/page/page/3979251.htm Make no mistake this was not a 100% NOS/OEM show type restoration – this was a restoration intended to be driven – undercoat was sprayed under fenders to protect them, the engine was modified from the original 2 barrel truck engine to be more like a 383 magnum – I also added a chrome air cleaner like the original HPP trucks would have had. The ignition was switched to a Mopar electronic system with orange module. The exhaust has factory HP cast iron manifolds leading to 3” stainless pipes. In 2006 I switched the original skinny wheels/tires for a set of Cragars with 275-60/15’s in the back and 215-70/15’s in the front. The truck cranks and drives great. It is a 49 year old truck with no power steering and drum brakes so it drives like a real truck! Everything currently is in working order except the speedometer seems to read about ½ the actual speed – it has always been that way I just never have worried about it since I rarely drive it. Lastly I have a pallet full of original parts that will go with the truck (please don’t contact me to buy the parts they need to go with the truck) – original air cleaner, hub caps, carburetor, NOS exhaust parts, and ton of other small original parts so someone can take it back to an original OEM restoration. The starting bid is the least I currently am willing to take for the truck and I am listing the truck locally as well so please bid if you are interested as the auction can be ended at anytime depending on the local adds.I was just reminded that the truck is currently in the Sweptline.org 2016 Calendar - http://www.sweptline.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=39026&p=281759&hilit=calendar#p281759
