Vehicle Detail

1966 Buick Electra 225 Convertible, only two owners since new. I bought it from the daughter of the original owner in 2004 and it's been in Arizona and Orlando, Florida since. This year it’s 50 years young and has been driven less than 62,000 original miles. Always garage kept, never in an accident. As you can see in the photos, the sheet metal is darn near perfect, no dents, no wrinkles, no gouges, no rust, no bondo. This car is all original except for a new convertible top with glass rear window and new top motor and pump in 2010, the top goes up and down easily. Original convertible boot is still like new, all snaps are there and work. Body and original paint are close to perfect, very, very few nicks and dings. Leather-like upholstery is excellent with no rips or tears and just one slightly worn spot where the driver slides in and out. Padded dash and door upholstery is excellent while the original carpet is still pretty good. All glass is very good with no discoloration or cracks. Wildcat 425 Nailhead V-8, 401 cu. inches, 3-speed automatic transmission. Starts right up, idles well, drives like a dream. No leaks at all in the rear axle area, maybe just one tiny oil pan leak up front. I’ve parked it over the same piece of cardboard for four years and the spot is barely one inch in diameter. Fully loaded except air conditioning - has power steering, power brakes, power windows (all 4 work fine). Factory AM push-button radio with a FM converter mounted under the dash. The original owner’s manuals are in the glovebox. Original jack in trunk. New Interstate battery installed February 2016. New Jersey inspection sticker from 1991 in the windshield and good condition (but expired) Army base gate pass stickers from Fort Monmouth on the bumpers. There is also a membership sticker from a snowmobile club on the rear bumper. A set of period-correct New Jersey license plates are included that you can put on the car when you show it. OK, here’s a couple items that aren’t quite right. 1) While transporting it across country, we hit a huge bump and lost the right fender skirt. I found another one on EBay but it turns out it is from a 1965, the sheetmetal fits but the trim is wrong. So I’m still looking for a replacement. 2) The electric antenna motor turns but the gearbox doesn’t engage so the antenna does not go up and down; I know it can be rebuilt, I just haven’t gotten around to it. 3) The engine compartment needs to be detailed and some of the engine paint has burned off, so it needs some TLC before you show it. Other than those three items, I really think it’s good to go. Title is free and clear and the car is currently registered, insured and driven. It gets about 12 miles per gallon, about right for a full-sized car of that era. Tires are older but good enough for local use, but if you want to fly-and-drive we can figure out a way to get new radials on it before you arrive at the Orlando airport where I will meet you. For overseas buyers, I can deliver it to the Port of Jacksonville, Florida for shipment to Europe or elsewhere. For domestic buyers if you choose not to come and get it I will coordinate with any car transporter you arrange. You can see from my buy-it-now price what I'd like to get for this car and the reserve is set at a reasonable point below that, but if you are serious, contact me and let's talk. But please do not bid unless you are ready and able to buy it; let’s not waste each other’s time. Check out my feedback, you will see that I take my EBay sales and purchases seriously. $500 deposit via PayPal within 48 hours, the rest in cleared check, cash or bank wire before it leaves my garage. I have it listed locally so I reserve the right to cancel this listing any time prior to receiving your deposit. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask and thanks for looking and good luck! I’m also selling a very clean 1950 Ford Custom sedan so please check my other items. On Mar-14-16 at 08:00:35 PDT, seller added the following information: Update: At the request of a bidder, I've posted 8 new photos of the interior. As you can see, the interior is very, very good. The only flaw is a worn spot on the driver's seat where his butt slides in and out. You can see it in the photo of the driver's seat. It is NOT a rip or tear, it is just a worn spot on the piping. The dash, dash pad and doors, including the carpet at the bottom of the doors, is darn near perfect. The back of the front seat is as nice as the front, no rips, tears or marks. Let me know if you ahve any other questions.
