Vehicle Detail
1986 300ZX TURBO 5-SPEED T-TOP ~ POWER SEATS ~ POWER WINDOWS ~ POWER LOCKS ~ DIGITAL DASH ~ CRUISE CONTROL 54,568 ORIGINAL MILES This 300zx features Nissan's legendary 3.0 liter V6 VG30ET motor mated to a smooth shifting 5-speed transmission. The Car has been finished in "HOT RED" with Graphite leather color combination, which is set off nicely by a set of LEGITIMATE ENKEI 92 BLACK MESH Alloy Wheels that were installed by the original selling dealer in 1986. Other than the wheels and a few minor details, this Z is BONE STOCK and unmodified from Nissan's original intent. The car was put into storage by the original owner in around 1998. They did a light restoration and got the car up to date on services in 2007 including a new timing belt at 52,501 miles in 11/07. They then put around 500 miles on the odometer before sending the Z back into storage for another 8 years, until I bought it last year. We did another "wake-up service" last summer including fluids, Interstate battery, clutch hydraulics, and replacing the nearly full-tread Pirelli Cinturato tires that were roughly 2 decades old. After that, I used the car as a fair weather daily driver to test the waters. When we were satisfied that she was road worthy, we logged over 1,000 miles in a weekend by taking the car to Raleigh for the Tringle Z Club's annual show, where the car won Best Z31 (and furthest travelled). There weren't a ton of cars there, but there were some nice Z31s present including an AE, and it was good day with great people. THE ATTACHED PICTURES OF THE 300ZX ARE UNEDITED IN ANY WAY OTHER THAN CROPPING, SO THAT YOU CAN SEE EXACTLY WHAT YOU GET. JUST THE WAY IT SHOULD BE – NO SURPRISES. You'll not likely find a better example of a Z31. I've only seen 1 that I thought was nicer in the last year or so - a white 35k mile car that looked to be a "10" which sold on eBay a couple months ago for mid-teen$. 1986 was the LAST year of the more agressive early front and rear end designs, and the FIRST year with the wider fender profile, as well as the only year the GLL Turbo got the "Turbo" side skirts, so the 1986s are different from every other year, and (in my opinion) the best looking of the bunch. We're "Z-People", and this car is only being offered for sale now because we decided after the fact that we'd like to be able to get ourselves and our 4 KIDS (I know, right?) to Z related events with our older Z and only one other car. In that light... unrelated to this sale and for what it may worth, I'm interested in purchasing a 1974-83 2+2 Z, OR an Infiniti G35 Coupe. Please keep in mind that while this is a VERY nice and remarkably rust-free Z, This IS a used vehicle. I'd personally rate the car a 9 in every aspect. Not a 10 that I'd be afraid to drive, but nearly as nice as I'd want a driver to be. FLAWS: There is a bit of seemingly unavoidable Z31 rust that always starts where the metal clips on the hatch weatherstrip break the paint, and a spot about the size of a pencil eraser on the hood that's been covered by the "3.0L" emblem for now. There are also the painted initials of the previous owner under the NISMO emblems on the doors. I've found no rust worth noting underneath the car, and the mechanic that did the service said it was solid when it was up in the air. This car seems to have been a fair weather (and occasional) driver. Inside, there's a small seam split on the passenger's seat bottom (roughly an inch). The A/C is complete, but may (or may not) need serviced. The right fog-light needs a bulb... I may get to that before the car is sold. The 300ZX will be sold as is/where is, and as described to the best of my non-professional ability. I ENCOURAGE anyone within a reasonable distance to meet the car for yourself before pushing any buttons, and anyone too far away to visit personally to arrange for an agent to come by on your behalf if you have any concerns. Payment in full must be made within 7 days of the close of the auction, following a non-refundable $500 deposit through PayPal that must be received within 24 hours of the auction ending. Payment methods accepted for the balance will be cash in person, a Cashier's Check from a bank with branches in Central PA with 10 Business day to clear prior to the release of the vehicle, or a bank wire transfer directly to my credit union (preferred) with 3 business days to season prior to the release of the vehicle. The CLEAR PA TITLE is IN HAND and ready to be transferred. If your plan is to come to Harrisburg to pick up the Z, I can arrange to pick you up at the airport (MDT), bus, or train station. If you would be planning to ship the car, DAS has a Harrisburg terminal. I can drop the car off with them, or we can make our schedule fairly flexible to arrange to meet any other transport service of your choice at the house. The 300ZX can stay here after payment in full has been received for up to a month to accommodate YOUR schedule – garaged, and of course - not driven. There is also a current ad running locally. If a local sale takes place, this auction will be removed without delay. Once the reserve has been met here at eBay, that ad will be removed, and the Z will only be sold through this auction. PLEASE ASK any and all questions... your bid is a binding contract to purchase - not to consider. Thanks for looking, and take care. Rob.
