Vehicle Detail
1953 Studebaker Champion Custom 4 Door This is a very nice car that has a solid/ straight body with no rust. Car is all original and very rare, there were only 5,473 of these produced (if you know about production runs, you know this is a very rare car). Could use new chrome, but everything is straight and is there (hood ornament, molding, etc). Car has 6-cylinder flathead, three speed with overdrive. New parts include a new battery and new starter. Also, the car has current registration and clean title. Hasn’t been sitting in a field getting destroyed by mice and the weather. Car is very nice, but is not restored. For an unrestored car that is 63 years old, it runs very well and starts easy; however, you will probably want to have the carburetor cleaned and possibly a tune up. Car steers very well and the suspension is good. Brakes are also good. Overall the interior is good, and the only couple defects are seen in the pictures. Car also has very nice wide white wall tires which have a lot of tread left. Things to know about the car, as I want to be straight forward about everything: The horn just stopped working a few days ago. I’m pretty sure it’s a relay.Odometer isn’t working. Also, the rear brake lights and rear turn signals are not working. I don’t think it is anything major, but I want to be straight forward about it. I haven’t had the time/ energy to look into it. Headlights (dims and brights) work great, tail lights work great, front turn signals work great, windshield wipers work great, interior lights work great, good headliner, good visors, paint not perfect, but pretty good. The engine compartment is not perfectly detailed, but pretty clean and good looking. In conclusion, this car is all original and complete. You would be pretty hard pressed to find another 1953 Studebaker Champion Custom that is in original, unmolested, and good condition such as this one. Add the overall condition of this car with the ultra low production, and you have a car that you don’t see for sale very often. Don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions you may have.Buyer is completely responsible for transporting the car, no exceptions.
