Vehicle Detail
1971 Camaro Z28, Real, Original, 4 Speed Car (NOT a clone or tribute) Over several years, this Z28 received an extensive and accurate frame-off restoration and has about 4,000 miles on it since completion. The firewall “Cowl tag”, with its numerical codes, is important in confirming Z28 authenticity and this car was born in Norwood, Ohio, the second week of February, 1971 (code 02B) so it has the Z28 verification stamp “Z28.19” on the tag. The “factory correct” engine compartment houses its original, born with, “Matching Numbers”, 350/330 HP, solid lifter engine block with stamp “V0125CGP” (engine built Jan. 25, 1971, Z28 350 cu inch) and matching partial VIN stamp. The engine Block cast number is 3970010 and the cast date “A-151” (January 15, 1971). The car has the correct 10 bolt, 3.73 ratio Posi-traction rear end (CG G 231 1 W). The Muncie, M-21, close ratio 4 Speed (3925661) stamped “P1M13B” with original Muncie shifter is date code correct for 1971 and may be a warranty replacement. The car’s body is very straight, rust free and repainted in its original Cranberry Red (code 75) with Black Stripes (code .19) and is in very good condition. The undercarriage is better than new, and is in clean and pristine condition, with correct red oxide painted pans, new brake lines, clutch, shocks, body mounts, exhaust pipes and suspension parts. The high quality interior is Black (code 775) with correct one piece bucket seats in vinyl upholstery, door panels, headliner, dash and carpets all in exceptional condition. The gauges, lights, and accessories work, horn does not. A small number of Z28s were built in 1971 (4,862) and this car features power steering, 4 spoke sport steering wheel, center console, shoulder belts, lap belts, power brakes with front discs and correct style 5 spoke factory wheels with F-60/15 Goodyear Polyglass tires. All the required identifiers unique to the 1971 “Z-28” are present such as; floor mounted gas pedal, 150 MPH speedometer, 8,000 RPM tach., Cowl Tag stamp, aluminum spacers/bumpers on control arms, larger sway bars, sway bar brackets, double snorkel air cleaner, rear bumperettes, front and rear spoilers(D80) and larger fuel line. Car has original Owners Manual and Vehicle Warranty Policy documents, plus a pile of parts receipts. This Z-28 is a highly original, simply superior muscle car and not a trailer queen. It runs strong, handles and performs well and would make a fine addition to any serious collection or a fun car to cruise on the weekend or to the classic car show. NO TRADES Please. Car is sold “As is, Where is”. I have described the vehicle to the best of my ability and NO WARRANTIES shall be expressed or implied. A non-refundable $500.00 deposit is due within 24 hours of Auction conclusion via PayPal or bank wire. If no contact within 24 hours, Seller reserves the right to re-list or resell.
