Only 94,802 KM (58,907 miles) on this fabulous roadster. 6-cylinder 2.8L engine that runs like a top. Very rare 4-speed manual gearbox. Original engine. Correct paint color. Euro headlamps. She kept the car until she passed.2nd owner: Two brothers who owned a transmission shop in Toronto acquired the car from her estate, and the car sat in the corner of their shop for years., they never did anything with the car.3rd owner: A customer of the Transmission shop saw the car, inquired and eventually purchased from the brothers. And then preceded to have the car restored in 2005. It was restored in Hamilton Ontario.4th owner: Current owner purchase 2 ½ years ago and put in his collection. He had some subsequent repairs done to the car, and the top end rebuilt, new timing chain, rail, & tensioner about six months ago. It replaced the 250 SL. Of the 23,885 W113 280 SLs produced, more than half were sold in the US. The bonnet, trunk lid, door skins and tonneau cover were made of aluminum to reduce weight. The comparatively short and wide chassis, combined with an excellent suspension, powerful brakes and radial tires gave the 280SL superb handling for its time. The styling of the front, with its characteristic upright headlights and simple chrome grille, dominated by the large three-pointed star in the nose panel, paid homage to the then already legendary 300 SL roadster.
