96 RMW 125k DGGM Up for bid is a 1996 Buick Roadmaster Estate Wagon with 125k two owner miles. Collectors Edition like every other 96 Roadmaster. Loaded up with power everything. Boasting GMs Corvette inspired multiport injected 5.7L LT1 V8 engine and 4L60E 4 speed automatic transmission, she puts down plenty of power. Tow package with 2.93 limited slip rear end (GW9 & G80 build codes). Trailer preparation "tow package" means the factory rated the car to pull 5000 lbs but these did not come from the factory with hitches so all hitches are aftermarket. This car has a light duty hitch. Delivers consistent 16 in town and 24 highway at 70 mph. Clean history - send me your email address and Ill send you the history report. Snowbird car - originally titled in Minnesota, but found in Florida with records in Florida going back many years. Undercarriage and lack or rust testify to that. Lots of new parts that tend to go out around this mileage - distributor, water pump, A/C compressor, ignition module, fuel pump all in the last 12k miles. Rare is not necessarily more desireable - these wagons came standard with third seats, but you could have it deleted at no cost. This car has that option (code 6Y2) with no 3rd seat for more storage space (common on funeral cars, which this probably was when new for first 4 years of life.) Condition Report ENGINE: Runs on all eight cylinders without smoking, missing or knocking. Engine runs at proper temperature. Good battery & good charging system. Starts easy and runs strong. TRANSMISSION: Performs beautifully. Engages gears quickly and shifts through all forward gears and reverse with good downshift and torque converter performance. Clean fluid with no burn odors. EXTERIOR:Body: Body is exceptionally straight - only a couple very minor dings. View images full size to see details. Above average. Paint: Paint is above average for 20 year old car. Has a few rock chips and minor imperfections but above average overall. Wood: Upper wood trim is worn smooth. The side panel fake wood is in great shape (still shiny, not faded) though the upper part of the tailgate has some sun fade as seen in pics. Other: Lower stainless bright trim is mostly in good shape. Front bumper stainless is near perfect. There are dings on left rear quarterpanel piece. Rubber side trim is all there. Windshield and all other glass are good with no chips, cracks or scratches. Undercarriage is remarkably solid for origin - see the pics - clearly undercoated since new: note shiny paint under most spots where the undercoat has flaked off. Underhood sheet metal in good shape, tailgate sill and door jambs are solid as seen in pics. Aluminum wheels are in good shape - some wheel weight marks but good overall. INTERIOR: Interior of the car is in good shape. There are some stains in the cargo area carpet, a small tear on the drivers seat as seen in pics, a small tear in the rear seat not visible in pics (its small) and some areas of the headliner sagged near the cargo windows. Dash has no cracks, seating areas are in good shape. Carpet in seating area is in good shape. Steering wheel is in nice shape. No smoke or pet odors. Nice interior overall. ELECTRICAL STUFF: All inspection items work (lights, horn, wipers, etc.) The power antenna does not work, but all other options work reliably, including power windows, power locks, power drivers seat, hot heat and cold A/C, tilt, cruise, aftermarket am/fm CD, power antenna, keyless entry, rear window release, rear wiper, intermittent wipers, and rear defroster. DRIVEABILITY: Drives out very nicely. Steering is tight, alignment is good, suspension is tight. Brakes work well with about 40% lining remaining. Tires have about 90% tread remaining on a matched set of good quality Bridgestone radials. Solid, quiet exhaust with no leaks. Check engine light is not lit (except at start up as it should.) No complaints - drive anywhere. Short version terms: Small non-refundable deposit as listed (but fast) by Paypal within 24 hours.
