2007 Scion tC with NYS Salvage title. Not drivable. The vehicle passed NYS inspection in August of 2015. In mid-December the check oil light came on. Oil was within the acceptable range and shortly thereafter, the check engine light came on. The code from the Engine Code Reader was "P0012 retarded timing", most likely due to low oil pressure. The engine now has a knock when stepping on the gas petal and metal shavings from the engine was found after draining the oil. Oil was replaced and both lights have temporarily gone off, however the engine still knocks when accelerating. In addition, two lights have been on since I bought the vehicle in 2013. The tire pressure sensor light is on because the tires do not have the sensors on the stems. The airbag light is also on because the control module isn't getting power. Battery is only 2 years old. Power locks work on the door but not with the key fob. Radio, CD player and all other audio works just fine. The sunroof and power windows work as well. Please ask if you have questions.
