As I looked her over, I knew she was solid as solid could get. Her bones are what you would expect growing up in Los Angeles California. Her body needed very little work. Here were the steps:*****Note*****Prior to paint, her chrome trim was all removed re-chromed and professionally hand polished.1. She was taken down to the metal (by hand) NOT by sand blasting. I was amazed at how perfect she was under that faded paint. She spent well over 90 days in paint and body. "No need to rush perfection".2. Then we began by degreasing the metal to remove contaminants left over from the stripping process. The metal is then treated and coated with zinc for superior corrosion resistance and better adhesion of the subsequent paint layers.3. Primer was the first layer of paint. It is formulated to fill tiny scratches and imperfections in the body and give the subsequent color coats something to adhere to. Unlike the drab gray primer of yesteryear, we used colored primer to hide future damage from rock or stone chips.4. The base coat, or color layer, was the next in the process. In the past, this was the final layer of paint, which was directly exposed to the environment. We then applied clear coat paint over the final color layer. (Clear coat is a layer of paint without color pigment added-it is simply clear paint. The clear coat adds high gloss while protecting the colored basecoat from scratching, chipping, and the effects of the environment.)Finally....Her paint is thick and smooth as you can see in the photos. *****During paint and body here are the notes about the chrome trim interior & exterior.*****Removed & Re-chromed:The hood emblem was removed and polishedThe trunk emblem was removed and polishedThe window pillars were removed and re-chromed.The windshield header was removed and re-chromed.Head light bezels was removed and polishedCenter pillar caps were removed and polished(2)Drivers side mirror was removed and polishedFront bumper Impact Bar was removed and polishedFront right hand bar extension was removed and polishedFront left hand bar extension was removed and polishedRear impact bar was removed and and polishedLeft rear outer impact bar was removed and polishedRight rear impact bar was removed and polishedSun visor (center windshield header piece) was removed and re-chromed.Door handles (Exterior 4) were removed and polished Hand PolishingOn all 4 doors the entire door trim was removed, disassembled and professionally hand polished this included:Drivers side mirrorHandles (Inner 4)Inner trays(4)Cigarette lighters (4)Unlocking handles (4)Door unlock knobs (4)Inner trim(4)Ashtrays (3)All gages i.e. Gas / Volts / Oil Pressure/SpeedometerSteering wheel center, shifter & indicator columnsDash trim A/c controls, Power window, Power lock, Cigarette lighter,AM/FM radio controls knobsVent knobsInterior lampDoor light bezel trim (4)All fender well molding (4)Lower quarter and side chrome molding (6)Rear deck lid trim (4)What's she has NEW:NEW BLACK TOP GRADE LEATHER****I personally chose each hide that was used for the interior.*****NEW 10 Rebuilt window switches (These were all taken apart sanded, cleaned and repaired with new rubber inserts)NEW Double loop black Carpet throughout entire cabin with heel kick padNEW Trunk carpets cut to original specificationsNEW made to order door moldings (4) with extruded ends that snap in perfect to original holes.
