1950 Mercury Monterey (the high end model of the Mercury Eight and the most rare of the 49-51 Mercs). This Merc has all the right amount of customization while keeping the great 50's look. Frame off Resto was done in 1996 and car has always been garage kept...Car is solid with no rust..Interior is in great condition, front and rear bench seat with the front seats power adjustable, no rips or tears. Front and Rear door panels are new with pleated black coverings. Car is shaved, frenched and lowered. Has modern radio, power antenea (also frenched), has tilt and teloscopic steering wheel for ultimate driving comfort. This Merc is powered by a Chevy Big Block engine code shows it to be a 396 325 HP from a 1969 Chevelle so it has plenty of power and sounds great! Trans is Chevy turbo 350 automatic, shifts clean and smooth with updated. The rear is a GM 12 Bolt posi- traction with a 3:31 gear ratio. The car goes down the road nice and is a smooth easy drive with power steering and power drum brakes. The next thing I was going to update on the car is the tires...they are ok but are older so they warrant replacement. The paint is nice and shiney the pearl is beautiful (I tried my best to show the pearl in a few of the close up photos) since it is a older restoration there some spots where there is mild crazing under the clear (def under the clear you canT feel it the topcoat is smooth), ( I was not able to get it to show in phots because its a light pearl color...is not noticable unless you are right up on it and looking for it but just want to be as honest as I can so you know what your looking at) The car also has some cool classic 50's pinstriping in magenta and teal and it looks awesome with the pearl paint...even with it being a older paint job it is still a head turner...everyone loves it!! I would like to also note that there are two cracks where they customized it near the trunk I took close up pics of it most of it is covered when the trunk is closed and the there is power windows that work but both the driver and passenger glass has hairline cracks in them (they still go up and down but if I was going to show this car I would have them replaced) again I would want to know these things if I was buying a car. Overall this a great stylish "LeadSled" that you can get in and drive today....Sad to sell but my 71 chevelle frame off is done and I need the room in the garage...and this dream car is ready to enjoy and be loved!!
