FOR SALE 1964-1/2 FORD MUSTANG COUPE 289 4V , AUTO , AIR CONDITIONING , 102,XXX ORIGINAL MILES I BOUGHT THIS CAR A LITTLE LESS THAN A YEAR AGO TO BUILD A RETRO-MOD BUT AFTER FINDING OUT THE SIGNIFICANCE AND RARITY OF THESE FIRST RUN MODELS I HAVE DECIDED TO LEAVE IT ORIGINAL AND FIND A REGULAR 1965/66 MUSTANG TO BUILD , THIS IS A SOLID CALIFORNIA CAR AND IT SHOWS , THIS CAR HAS THE HIGHER PERFORMANCE 4 BARREL 289 OPTION AND FACTORY AC WITH AN AUTOMATIC TRANS , I HAVE DRIVEN THIS CAR AROUND 5000 MILES AND IT DRIVES WELL FOR A 50 YEAR OLD VECHICEL. LAST YEAR THE PREVIOUS OWNER COMPLETELY WENT THROUGH THE BRAKES AND THEY WORK WELL , THE CAR DRIVES STRAIGHT AND STEERS GOOD BUT I THINK THE FRONT END IS A LITTLE ON THE LOOSE SIDE AND MAY NEED FRESHENED UP HOWEVER IT STILL DRIVES PRETTY WELL AND I HAVE TAKEN IT ON A 200 MILE TRIP WITH NO WORRIES , THE TRANS SHIFTS GOOD AND FEELS STRONG , THIS CAR HAS DUAL EXHAUST WITH GLASS PACK MUFFLERS AND HAS A NICE RUMBLE TO IT , THE FACTORY 289 STARTS EASY AND RUNS WELL NO KNOCKS ,TICKS , OR SMOKE BUT IT IS A LITTLE COLD BLOODED AND I THINK IT COULD USE A CHOKE ADJUSTMENT AND PROBABLY A TUNE UP AS WELL. THIS ENGINE IS STRONG BUT AT 102,000 MILES IM SURE ITS A LITTLE WORN. THIS ENGINE IS STOCK EXCEPT THE ORIGINAL CAST IRON INTAKE AND AUTOLITE CARB HAVE BEEN UPGRADED TO EDELBROCK UNITS , AFTER DRIVING IT 3000 MILES I CHANGED THE OIL AND IT WAS ABOUT 1/2 QUART LOW BUT THAT IS NOT TOO BAD FOR AN OLDER MOTOR LIKE THIS , THE INTERIOR IS PRETTY NICE OVERALL BUT HAS SOME MINOR IMPERFECTIONS AND WEAR. I WOULD RATE IT AS NICE DRIVER CONDITION , THIS CAR HAS MANY FEATURES THAT ARE UNIQUE TO THE 1964-1/2 MODELS ONLY LIKE A GENERATOR , AND THE DASH LIGHT READS GEN INSTEAD OF ALT , THE HOOD EDGES ARE NOT FOLDED , THE HEADLIGHT BUCKETS ARE BEVELED , THE CORE SUPPORT HAS BATTERY COOLING LOUVERS , THE FENDER EMBLEMS AS WELL AS THE SHIFTER HANDLE ARE SMALLER UNITS THAN A 1965 , THE HORNS ARE MOUNTED DOWN LOW , IM SURE THERES MORE BUT YOU GET THE PICTURE , ALL GLASS IS GOOD , ALL LIGHTS WORK , THIS CAR IS VERY SOLID AND HAS VERY FEW RUST ISSUES. THE ROCKERS , WHEEL OPENINGS , FRAME RAILS , SHOCK TOWERS ARE ALL SUPER NICE BUT AT SOME POINT IN TIME THE EXTERIOR HAS BEEN REPAINTED AND SOME OF THE BODY WORK IS COMING THROUGH IN A FEW AREAS. THE PASS DOOR HAS SOME MINOR RUST COMING THROUGH ON THE LOWER FRONT OUTSIDE CORNER , THE LOWER REAR DRIVER SIDE QUARTER HAS A LITTLE RUST SPOT , THE PASS SIDE MID UPPER QUARTER HAS A SPOT WHERE A DENT WAS PUTTIED OVER AND IS CRACKING(why this small dent was not pushed out from inside the trunk I will never understand) THE ORIGINAL VINYL TOP WAS REMOVED AND WHERE THE TRIM RIVET HOLES WERE FILLED IN WITH PUTTY IS COMING THROUGH AND THE ORIGINAL FLOOR PANS ARE FINALLY STARTING TO GET A LITTLE RUST BUT NOT TOO BAD MAINLY JUST THE DRIVER FRONT TOE KICK AREA , AS I STATED THIS CAR RUNS AND DRIVES BUT THERE ARE A FEW THINGS THAT NEED REPAIRED: THE GAS GAUGE DONT WORK , THE REAR PASS SIDE WINDOW POPS OUT OF THE TRACK SOMETIMES SO THE LAST TIME I PUT IT BACK ON I LEFT IT UP AND HAVE NOT USED IT ANYWAY I WILL INCLUDE A SET OF NEW WINDOW BUSHINGS FOR ALL 4 WINDOWS , THE PASS SIDE EXHAUST DONUT GASKET LEAKS A LITTLE BUT I WILL ALSO INCLUDE A NEW ONE , ONE U-JOINT IS GETTING A LITTLE PLAY BUT I WILL INCLUDE A NEW ONE , THE PREVOUS OWNER HAD THE AC GONE THROUGH LAST YEAR AND HAD IT CONVERETED TO R134A (and had the whole car dynamatted as well) HE TOLD ME IT WORKED GREAT BUT WHEN I USED IT THIS SUMMER IT DID NOT BLOW VERY COLD SO ITS GOING TO NEED SOME ATTENTION , THE REAR DIFF HAS A MILD DRIP AND I HAVE NOT HAD A CHANCE TO CHECK IT OUT , SOME OF THE WEATHER STRIPPING IS GETTING HARD AND SHOWING AGE , ANYWAY I THINK THAT IS ALL THE QUIRKS WITH THIS CAR BUT I COULD OF OVERLOOKED SOMETHING , THIS CAR IS BEING SOLD AS IS WITH NO WARRENTY , IT IS OLD AND USED , I HAVE TRIED TO DESCRIBE IT AS BEST AS I CAN BUT PLEASE TAKE YOUR TIME AND USE THE ZOOM FEATURE ON EVERY PICTURE AND PLEASE FEEL FREE TO ASK QUESTIONS EITHER THROUGH EBAY OR YOU CAN GIVE ME A CALL (636)866-745ZERO , THANKS FOR LOOKING , CLEAR TITLE IN MY NAME , BELOW IS THE DATA TAG INFO FOR THIS CAR.
