96 RMW 88k Up for bid is a 1996 Buick Roadmaster Limited Estate Wagon with 88k one owner miles. Collectors Edition like every other 96 Roadmaster. Originally a northern car but exceptionally solid - no outer body rust or bondo; solid undercarriage. Loaded up with power everything. Boasting GMs Corvette inspired multiport injected 5.7L LT1 V8 engine and 4L60E 4 speed automatic transmission, she puts down plenty of power. Tow package 2.93 limited slip rear end (GW9 & G80 build codes). Trailer preparation "tow package" means the factory rated the car to pull 5000 lbs but has no hitch (despite trailer prep name, these did not come from the factory with hitches so all hitches are aftermarket.) Engine runs at proper temperature. Good battery & good charging system. New water pump and fuel pump. Starts easy and runs strong. TRANSMISSION: Performs beautifully. Engages gears quickly and shifts through all forward gears and reverse with good downshift and torque converter performance. Clean fluid with no burn odors. EXTERIOR: Body: Body is very straight down the sides. Small dent on right front fender as seen in pics. View images full size to see details. Paint: Paint is very nice for age. Some minor chips and scratches. Above average. Wood: Upper wood trim was removed, painted tan and reinstalled so it wont peel like most do at this age. The side panel fake wood is in good shape with a few small chips/nicks as pictured. Other: Lower stainless bright trim is very nice with two small notable dings on left rear quarterpanel and right front bumper. Rubber side trim is all there. Windshield and all other glass are good with no chips, cracks or scratches. Undercarriage is very solid - undercoated in the past - see the pics. Underhood sheet metal/wheelhouses are solid. Tailgate sill and door jambs have a couple very small blisters as seen in pics. Aluminum wheels are in good shape with a few spots of clearcoat peeling. INTERIOR: Interior of the car is in very nice shape. Dash has no cracks. Leather seating areas are in great shape, leather is still soft, minor wear on drivers seat. Carpet in seating area is very nice, cargo deck carpet in good shape. Headliner is nice - not sagging. Steering wheel is in nice shape. No smoke or pet odors. Very nice interior overall. ELECTRICAL STUFF: All inspection items work (lights, horn, wipers, etc.) Seat heaters dont work but all other power options work reliably, including power windows, power locks, dual power seats with power lumbar and recliners, hot heat and cold A/C, tilt, cruise, am/fm stereo cassette, power antenna, keyless entry, rear window release, rear wiper, twilight sentinel, intermittent wipers, and rear defroster. DRIVEABILITY: Drives out very nicely. Steering is tight, alignment is dead on, suspension is tight. Brakes work well with about 40% lining remaining. Tires have about 50% tread remaining on a matched set of good quality whitewall radials. Solid, quiet original stainless steel exhaust with no leaks. Check engine light is not lit (except at start up as it should.) No complaints - drive anywhere. Short version terms: Small non-refundable deposit as listed (but fast) by Paypal within 24 hours.
