Vehicle Detail
Condition: This car is what I refer to as 'real'. Not entirely original or babied, but not ragged out or abused, either. Like any car this age, it has its' own quirks and personality, but on the whole, it's a great ride! Receives more than its' share of attention and compliments wherever it goes. Easily nice enough for cruise-ins and just the right amount of 'patina' to not be paranoid about just tooling around in. Some folks might call it a ten foot-er. Nice enough to receive an invite to Stacey David's production company, up in White House, for an 'eye-candy' photo-shoot (no, I didn't go). Has spent a fair share of its' life garaged. The sheet metal is sound and has a 30 year old repaint of the original OEM 2B 'Bright Red' which shows normal wear and tear (hazing, minor scuffs and a few chips) but still presents well enough. A previous owner had some minor work performed on the lower rear corners of the doors about 15 years ago. That work is still presentable but showing its' age. The only 'rust', per se, is primarily surface rust in a few places. The only remaining OEM materials in the drivetrain are the block, crank, transmission case, driveshaft and rear end housing. Everything else has been refreshed or replaced, including the radiator. Motor has less than 7k miles on it since a rebuild, and has only logged 4k miles since 2007. Still shuts down nice and tight, burns no oil and runs best on 91-93 octane fuel. Pulls about 12.9-13.0 inches of vacuum at idle, 17+ inches steady state going down the road. Wheels and tires have less than 1k miles on them. Exhaust note is deep/bass but doesn't beat on you. No drone. History: We are the 6th and 8th owners, respectively. The cars' history can be tracked through all previous owners to its' original sale @ Joe Welty Ford in Wenatchee, Washington, on 6/3/1972. On Dec-04-15 at 05:16:44 PST, seller added the following information: Condition: Note: Have had questions regarding the authenticity of the 351W motor in this car. "H" code, 2V motors could be either Windsors or Clevelands. No rhyme or reason as to which. Was determined by availability at time of build. This car is what I refer to as 'real'. I'm being as honest as I know how to be. If you have any questions, please ask, and you'll get a straight answer. Besides, who knows(?), I may wish to buy it back (again), one day! Features: Car weighed in @ 3740 pounds in 2006 on a DOT scale, w/ quarter tank of gas/no driver or spare tire. 80 psi oil pressure, cold/20 psi, hot @ idle. 6-1/2 - 7 psi fuel pressure. 7"-10" vacuum @ initial start. 12.5" - 13.5" vacuum @ idle (warmed up), 17" vacuum steady state. Idle @ 950 - 1k rpm in neutral. Choppy idle, cold. Speedometer not corrected for new(er) rear gears, but car tachs out @ 3000-3200 @ 70 mph.
