Vehicle Detail
At the start my intention was to build a re-production of my families past work vans, we had 3 in the fleet. So I found a very clean, rust free, straight van and had it sent east. I was able to complete the transformation which also included lettering the vehicle using the original stencils which I located. As the way of things, including the economy, my business has since dissolved and now I have to sell some things off. Starting with this rust free van, I changed the color to a fair match for the original light blue color that was Dodgeslead work van color in the 1960's. It has a 318 V-8 with a 3 spd. manual on the tree. The glass is great, the chrome is like new, all of the windows work, the little moving step is present, and it had passed the PA State Inspection just before it was pulled from use. Also, the Gas tank was replaced with a rust free tank which I had cleaned and sealed, so it should last for many years to come along with a new rubber floor matting. One last item is the van is equipped with "VINTAGE" 15" American Racing Wheels. These are worth about $150 to $250 a piece and really add to the vans look. Please ask questions before bidding . . . Thanks and Good Luck ! ! !On Nov-30-15 at 16:50:59 PST, seller added the following information: I did promise to get some inside pictures up and some bottom side shots.Sorry, it didn't happen today except for a single inside shot I found on my saved pictures.I have since installed a rubber floor mat. Ill try to get some tomorrow.Thanks.On Dec-03-15 at 18:03:20 PST, seller added the following information: I can see that my initial description was somewhat lacking... Sorry The van is and has been completed for a few years, in as far as reassembly. It was inspected back in MAY OF 2013. I drove it for 1 summer and with my father death I lost interest as well as a convenient place to store it. I accumulated 233 miles before I took it off the road. It has sat in my drive way since, except for the occasional drive around my development. When it was PA inspected, it needed brakes, wheel cylinders, muffler, and tail pipe. It is probably a late year 1965 as it has a 318. The undercarriage & frame is as to be expected, coming from desert environment. Read into that (no rust). I found a good condition 1964-65, single strap, gas tank, of which I had cleaned and sealed...!!! It has no turn signals because they were not required and nobody installed the tacky, after market signals. It was a radio delete van, but has a modern after market disc/radio installed. Also an after market 8 track player is present. No idea if it works. This van does have the "often removed" side step. A complete, non corroded Battery Box. I am looking for more than $5,000, but think $10,000 might be too much, you decide....... Sarcasm. If you think I am dreaming, well maybe, but it does not require any body or frame work, it is Complete,Original, Dodge Steel and this will save you thousands, At least here in the North East, where everything rusts. Also the chrome is all present and almost like new. WOW ! ! !
