Hi , I have decided to sell my 1980 Triumph Spitfire due to health issues and can't finish it , it has been in my family for over 23 years and has always been kept in a controlled environment , my purchased this as a nice running car but reverse gear was out , so he took it apart to repair the transmission and that as far is it got , so I bought from him in 2005 and started a full body off restoration (which was not my first) but I was going to keep this so there was no expense spared on parts , so everything suspension , brake components , fuel system etc. , all parts were media blasted to bare metal including the body and frame which is painted back with base-coat clear-coat , all small parts (gas line clips , brake springs etc.) were blasted and painted back to the original color . The body had one dime sized hole in the drivers floor-board and a few very small dings on the body . I replaced the bonnet due to cracks around the headlight bezels and the latches and I found a better bonnet . MOTOR: Motor was a complete rebuild with new flat-top pistons all bearings (std.) and seals , timing chain and gears , mild porting on the head with a 3 angle valve job and a like new rebuilt set of SU-HS4 twin carbs , a 4-2-1 header with new stainless exhaust and muffler . TRANSMISSION and REAR END : Standard 4-speed rebuilt , new clutch pressure plate resurfaced flywheel and starter ring , same with rear-end all new bearings seals and lash re-set , new axles and outer bearings . Front end was rebuilt with every replaceable part being replaced , bushings , ball joints , tie rods , rack bushings . All new shocks , brakes , SS brake lines , Way too much to list , I have the complete new interior , carpet , seat foams , and tan hounds-tooth seats from Covington (the original manufacture) it needs to be finished , I was installing the wiring when my surgeries started , needs wiring finished , interior installed , drivers door and bonnet painted (and I have a full gallon of base-coat urethane paint) SPARE PARTS: Carbs , intakes , radiator , enough trans parts to put together a std. 4-speed and another with O/D , new various small parts , extra front and rear bumpers , basically the spares would bee around my starting price .
